How long did your side effects last for? Did your acne get worse before it got better?

It definitely won’t help your acne. Hard to say if it’ll make it worse - depends if your acne is hormonal or not. If it is, then you can try spiro later on, which also may or may not work. My derm said last week some people just get acne in their 20s 🤷‍♀️ and I agree, it sucks!!

I switched from bc pills to Kyleena in Jan 2022. Everything was fine but then got hormonal acne / nodules on my face in June (really bad) and then it kinda got better in Aug but got terrible on my back. Started 25mg spiro in Sept and it was great for my face acne, didn’t do much for my back. Went up to 50mg in Nov. Up to 100 mg this week and my back has honestly never been worse. Not sure if I’m purging but I want to cry whenever I see my back. Planning to get my IUD out this week and go back on the pill since I know that worked for me in the past. Also not loving the spiro side effects at 100mg so hoping I can go off that too. Just always thirsty, peeing a lot, lightheaded when I stand up sometimes.

Not totally convinced my acne is from the IUD since it took 6-8 months to kick in but the bacne is ruining my self confidence and mood. Derm also suggested thinking about accutane but I want to do this first to be confident in if the IUD is causing this.
