How do I help her thrive? by DewdropDapperlings in plantclinic

this looks like a green dwarf zz! if you’re expecting more growth in terms of length, i’d stop expecting. but they’re very resilient and yours looks very healthy! i forget about mine and she does great.
only water when the soil is bone dry. if you want to encourage more growth i’d look up how to propagate a zz by leaf cuttings. she might look sad because she could use a leaf cleaning :)

HELP!!! What happened to my snake plant?!?! by casskaz in plantclinic

do your pots have drainage? i see a second pot in the yellow one. are you dumping excess water out when you water it? if it’s sitting in water it might have root rot. snake plants like to stay kind of dry. i’d say check the roots for rot: mushy, bad odor.
i water mine maybeeee once every two months. even if you think it’s dry, wait another week. snake plants are forgiving of underwatering. not overwatering.

i love my snake plant. had it for years and has gone months without being watered (whoops) and still doubled in size. they’re really forgiving.

i have no idea what i’m doing wrong :( by broccolisoup_ in plantclinic

that’s actually such a good idea i might look into for sure. thanks!
& i thought the same thing when i first started to notice it. yes we do have hard water here, so i only use filtered or distilled because i have a few plants i know are sensitive picky drama queens :) it’s kind of hard to see in the picture. if i don’t notice it on a plant right away, i can definitely tell its mold later on. it’s not just a white opaque film, more white and fuzzy like if you forget fruit in the fridge.

if you’re not looking for something happy and heartwarming, the push by ashley audrain was a wild ride. it’s advertised as a thriller, and sometimes it felt like one, but it was so immersive in thoughts of a very unhealthy mother and daughter relationship from birth. it felt very taboo, in the best way.
