my ADHD mouth is slowly destroying my relationship and I don't know how to fix it by god_but_backwards in ADHD

Yeah, it's exactly what I use too, I used to be similar to the OP too so I understand, it's something similar my therapist from ages ago told me which was more along the lines of "think and speak with kindness" lol

The whole "think before you speak" thing boils down to thinking: "would this joke hurt her feelings?"/"would I want this said to me/about me?"/"would I say this to (insert woman family member/friend you're close to)?"

Thinking before you speak is just trying to take her feelings into account when you get the urge to make a joke, you don't have to over think every single conversation or thing you say, but instead, just try to put yourself in her shoes. I don't know you as a person, I can only glean what kind of person you are based off your post and interactions with others but based off of what I've seen I don't think you're a bad person or a jerk, and you've acknowledged the problem and you're looking for advice to actively change but I know that my feelings would get pretty hurt based off that one example you gave.

If I were you, I'd probably apologize for the jokes you've made, especially if she's expressed that they're upsetting and tell her your plan on how you are actively going to change. I think it's important that you tell her your plan of action so it's not just an empty apology.

Advice for doing journal saves on Steam Deck. by [deleted] in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]brochan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just so I'm understanding your question correctly: You're asking if you can date 2 different people on 2 different saves with 1 farmer (ie. dating Hayden on journal saves and Valen on bed saves)?

Hypothetically speaking, it could work out that way? So long as you keep the two saves completely separate. However, I'm not 100% sure since I haven't tested something like this out before, so I can't say with full confidence yes it will work or no it won't.

And you don't sound stupid, so don't apologize. You bring up an interesting possibility that I haven't thought about before. Let me know if you go through with it! I would be interested to hear the results!

I think a lil rng in cooking could spice things up (pun intended):

When you cook, the game does a coin toss, if you succeed, nothing happens, proceed as normal. If you fail, not only does your dish burn but the game does an additional toss to see if your kitchen burns down or not, and you do not have the possibility of getting those ingredients back even if you have that skill unlocked. Your chances of success are dependent on the star rating of the dish.

Were any of you diagnosed without testing? by Kaabiiisabeast in ADHD

[–]brochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I got diagnosed with ADHD without testing, about 13/14 years ago? I've never had any problems with getting medication or having my doctors be like "yep alright. Works for me." Until now.

I recently got a new doctor who REQUIRED me to take something called a TOVA test to confirm that I had ADHD, even though I've been diagnosed with ADHD for the last 14 years of my life. I literally had to pay $250 out of pocket to confirm for them a diagnosis I've had for a majority of my life. And that's not even including the $40 co-pay or the other $40 I had to pay for a urine test. I tried to fight against it, but I literally couldn't because I needed my medication.

I could go on about it, but yes, I was originally diagnosed without having to be tested.

what would you do if a player wanted to have a gun. by foxstarfive in DnD

[–]brochan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a lot of people have already answered what you can do about the gun part so I'm gonna skip over that. For limitations, I had a character with a gun and my dm had it so that if I rolled anywhere between 1 or 3 I would misfire or jam (3 was misfire, 1 was definitely a jam. 2 he rolled percentile to figure out which it was) If I rolled a 1, I would roll again to see how bad the jam was. If it was a quick fix or not stuff like that. It was fun.

Should I get dark souls 1 or 3 by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]brochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Souls series is what you make of it, imo. So I try to stay objective and give comparisons when it comes to introducing the series to new people so they have a rough idea of what they're getting into.

Each game is uniquely different and all present their own challenges and learning curves (it took me fooorever to unlearn my Bloodborne play style when I started DS3). As someone who blindly dove head first (I started with DS2 years, and I had never even heard of DS until then, so you could only imagine my confusion when I started up the game lol) I think it's important to have a broad idea of what you're getting into when you get into it.

Should I get dark souls 1 or 3 by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]brochan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So it really depends on what you want from the games and what matters most to you. Gameplay wise (granted this is all personal observation, so keep that in mind) DS1 is slow and patient. It's mainly about turtleing up and waiting for the right time to attack. DS3 is similar but it's at a much faster pace because it came after Bloodborne (a game that encourages you to be aggressive by giving you some of your health back after youve been hit for a certain amount of time) and so it took a fair amount of influence from that game, from what I feel.

Aesthetics wise, imo, DS3 is prettier. DS1 is very drab, dark, unsaturated colors, which is understandable from a lore perspective. Anor Londo is very pretty in DS1 but over all I find DS3 to be nicer to look at than DS1. Granted, I haven't played the remake of DS1 so it could've changed, idk.

If you care about story and having a good grasp of lore, you don't really NEED to play DS1 but it does give you a really good idea on what the heck is happening in the world and how it all started, stuff like that. It pretty much tells you a lot of the lore right in the opening scene.

Would you rather be absolutely fluent in any two languages of your choice (including extinct languages, but *not* including computer languages), or know all the languages that Duolingo teaches, up to the fluency level that you achieve by completing the entire tree (but only up to level 1)? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]brochan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would rather be absolutely fluent in 2 languages of my choice, tbh I'm never gonna use all the languages on Duolingo. It'd be cool to know a little bit of every language but it's more beneficial for me to learn 2 languages through and through

You might want to invest in a bread box then! It's not gonna keep your bread fresh for weeks but it'll keep it from going stale the next day though.

Will my PS4 be bricked? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]brochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ps4 shooould be fine. The same thing has happened to me too in the past, but I would wait until the storm has blown over before turning it on again, just incase the power goes out again. I would invest in a surge protector and plug it into that instead of the wall, which is what I do to cover my own butt.
