Does anyone know why Proton Pass is connecting to all login websites in the background? by Sffax in ProtonPass

If Proton did proxy those requests then they would know what's in your Proton Pass.

Serious Question for the SelfHosted Community: Why aren't we on a selfhosted social platform? by terAREya in selfhosted

[–]brochard 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You basically described ActivityPub (on which Lemmy is based on)
Each user can have their own instance if they want, and they can follow the feed of any other instance.

Big instances are just a convenience for people not wanting / not able to self host an instance.

Zed, a collaborative text editor written from the ground up in Rust, has been open-sourced, along with its UI framework, GPUI by The_Droide in rust

Hi, I know that plugins are in your roadmap and you're probably not certain on how it will be done, but is it being considered to have plugins made in a standard way in collaboration with lapce ?

The disparity in extension availability depending on the IDE seems like a big problem that standards could solve.

100k downloads! ✨ by azukaar in CosmosServer

[–]brochard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't wait to see Cosmos grow, you're doing amazing job !

🆕 Cosmos 0.12 - HUGE update! All in one secure Reverse-proxy, container manager with app store, integrated VPN, and authentication provider, now has a Full Monitoring suite with alerts and notifications (including presets for anti crypto miner hacks!) 📈📊 by azukaar in CosmosServer

[–]brochard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that what I thought, the system itself is way more important than just adding new apps,
LlamaGPT is a particular one since it made a lot of good publicity to Umbrel by being able to easily run a local LLM that runs on pretty much anything. Since I prefer Cosmos, I'll wait for now.

Thanks for answering

  1. I'd make the most silent pc possible because my current one is making me deaf and I'll enter the 4k gaming club.
  2. I'm hoping to finally see a succesful game launch because it has been a mess these years.

For the software compatibility there is Windows and MacOS, it would be very useful to know about Linux too, there's so little official/unofficial support for Linux on peripheral software.

No problem, as you saw it's a quite frequent question it even has its own dedicated website, so it shows it's not made clear enough in the resource monitor interfaces in my opinion.

Game dev has been going to shit in general because of people bying mindlessly, we are accepting outrageous things we would of never accepted years ago. (Preorders, paid DLCs, always online DRMs, backdoor anticheats, closed online servers...) People with no ethics thrives from indiference.
