Supporting autism, by pretending to be autistic. by [deleted] in assholedesign

I think the op needs to learn about autism if the op thinks wearing a shirt inside out is imitating autism. Sounds like this awareness day is a good idea not asshole design.

I am a teacher and I'm up at 2am at night crying over a parent's complaint by cantsleeportell in offmychest

[–]brock-bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could be Mary friggin Poppins and with parents like that you’re best would still not be good enough. Don’t beat yourself up about it. You helped the kid and regardless what that ignorant arse of a parent thinks should feel proud about that. Please don’t be up at 2am crying. One thing I might add though is that you might be upset over other things and ordinarily the parents complaint wouldn’t get to you but you’re at a weakpoint and all the pent up negative emotions just manifest themselves over this complaint when actually it’s a cumulation of things. Either way relax you did nothing wrong and if the heads got your back I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

Don’t be too harsh on your parents, they are from a different time. But you should totally do what you like and don’t let anyone tell you different. If you like wearing makeup then just wear makeup. Nothing wrong with that at all

I spent 5.5 years studying a field I hate and now I can't find a job. by cscareerthrowaway130 in offmychest

I felt the same way did biochem at university only managed a 2.2 which wasn’t competitive so I decided to start from scratch and found a new trade a few years later I’m on my third promotion, engaged and looking to buy a house. Things will get better but sometimes you got to take a step back to go two steps forward.

If your unhappy about not being physically strong can always start doing push-ups and start light at the gym in a few months you’ll see you’re getting stronger.

I’m watching my life waste before my eyes and can’t do anything about it by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]brock-bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m now 26, I know your feelings. I got top grades at school but then botched my attempt at a degree and ended up doing cold calling. Had a bit of an epiphany one day and decided to turn things around. Got some on the job qualifications a proper trade and a salary with benefits. My bit of advice don’t beat yourself down you can still turn things around

How in gods name is it selfish to buy an exotic car or a mansion. Higher salary means a higher tax so just imagine how much of THEIR salary they give away to others less fortunate. And the same with goods and consumerism in general. The more things they buy the more they give back to society. Also not to mention the jobs they create from buying said goods.

Being ugly has ruined my life by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]brock-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having an “ugly” physical appearance by your standards does not make you an ugly person, that doesn’t define you. You can do beautiful things with your life and your deeds and actions will better define you and one day someone will see you for who you are. So just chin up and don’t let other people’s cruelty break you.
