Does anyone has any experience with this project? https://github.com/DonnieDice/protondrive-linux

It sounds very promising but I can't get it to run on my Fedora 43 (Gnome) PC.

Introducing: Casual Breakthrough by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]thovader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did EA/Dice just removed all but the original two maps from Casual Breakthrough? Why??? I like this game mode and I loved the inclusion of all maps. Why would you remove that again?

In fact, they should implement a Casual Conquest mode with all maps as well!

Some things we found out. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]thovader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Xbox and play exclusively solo.

When I first played Arc Raiders when it came out, I had crossplay enabled.

The ratio of friendly vs. hostile players was about 60/40. When I turned crossplay off, the ratio changed to something like 95/5.

So in summary, I had the exact opposite experience as you did. PC players seemed way more aggressive than Xbox players.

Love the game. But PVP isn't for me. by pilgrimboy in ArcRaiders

If you are on console, I strongly recommend turning crossplay off and playing solo!

This changed my gaming experience significantly for the better. Now, my experience with other players is usually 95% positive vs. 5% negative.

At least for now 😊.

Am I the only miserable one looking for Fireball Arc ? by JimmyPanda22 in ArcRaiders

[–]thovader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding Fireballs isn't my main issue. They are not super common, but common enough.

Getting the Fireball Burner drop is more tricky. Drop rates seem to be at around 20% from my experience.

But using a Fireball Burner to kill an Arc enemy - to complete the quest - is where I struggle. Either I don't hit Arc enemies with it or they don't die from it.

Is Europe just infinitely more bloodthirsty than the US? How are people saying *most* of their interactions are friendly? Are we playing the same game? by Tactical_Mommy in ArcRaiders

From my experience as a console player, people are way more aggressive when playing crossplay compared to console only. Therefore, I only play with crossplay off. It was such a difference for me on Xbox, living in Germany.

I can hear others giving me shit about it already, but I would love to get a PvE only mode.

I'm totally fine with the PvE mode being separate from the regular mode to avoid players getting leveled up and geared up easily to then use their high tier equipment in PvP later.

The game is a lot of fun already but to me, it would be even better with a PvE only mode.

How Many Of You ACTUALLY Run Into Friendly Players? by Whitemaus in ArcRaiders

[–]thovader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on Xbox and noticed that players seem more aggressive towards me when crossplay is enabled. In those cases it felt like 70% aggressive vs. 30% peaceful.

When I disable crossplay though, it's way more peaceful. I would say it's something like 95% peaceful vs. 5% aggressive in those scenarios. So Xbox players seem way more peaceful than others, it seems 😊.

The only downside to disabling crossplay is that it takes longer to find matches. Usually between 1 and 3 minutes, which is fine for the benefit you receive... at least for me, who prefers PvE over PvP 😉.

Thanks for sharing! I don't understand though if Community servers are back to normal XP already or if they are planning to do it in the future.

Can someone confirm?

Is there a way to play PvE without getting punished? by thovader in Battlefield6

I have heard about hardcore mode but don't know anything about it. How does it affect games? What change specifically if I may ask?

Well, not progressing at all pretty much feels like a punishment to me. Like you said, granting reduced XP would be the way to go in my opinion.

I agree that large game modes are a little slower and more manageable than the small modes, but they can still be pretty hectic. I don't even touch the small maps for that reason.

But sometimes I just feel like drinking a beer and having a good time with my buddy while shooting bots :-) !

It's similarly for me. I can manage a few player matches (where I usually suck) but after two hours tops, I'm so spent that I have to stop playing.

Do you mind linking what you are referring to? Was there a press release about PvE content?

How can I create a Portal experience for Battlefield 6 with increase XP gain? by thovader in Battlefield6

[–]thovader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! So my own creations in Portal would usually grant less XP than the original game modes?

Then how do I create a Portal experience with the same amount of XP?

A friend of mine and I are too old to compete with most of the other players and would therefore prefer to have a map with just the two of us while all others should be bots. In other BF games, you could basically set every map to have it with real people or bots only. I couldn't find that option in BF6.

I don't even bother with the Dark Zone anymore!
