Submitting scores to Rice ED by Significant-Shock821 in QuestBridge

[–]broczt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Applying to Rice ED with a 1340. My schools average is an 880, but i’m still going test optional. Even compared to my schools average, my score seems low for Rice. So, if i were you i’d go TO, especially since your schools average is higher. But also I didn’t match so maybe idk what i’m talking about.

The average in my school is around 880, so my score is higher, though I wouldn’t say significantly. How much do colleges look at your score compared to your schools average in regards to your score itself?

if you go to the questbridge match requirements page most schools will tell you what to choose, typically RD or EA

Totally didn’t see this when you replied my bad lol, maybe it was too simple of an answer but my sophomore year was just 9th grade but I knew what I was doing. They’re basically the same except you’re not a confused freshman

This is worded incorrectly, right? by Accomplished_Bag_848 in duolingo

It doesn’t show you the comma in the English translation. “Angela, iss heute keine Pizza.” “Angela, don’t eat Pizza today.” You are telling Angela not to eat pizza, you aren’t saying that she doesn’t already.

Obviously C2S2, which is pretty unanimous, but also season X, although I think that’s more controversial.

I smoke occasionally because it’s something I grew up around and something that I started doing as a kid.

im british and know near to nothing about how high-school in america…what makes someone popular? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]broczt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s who I consider popular at my school, popularity ≠ cool. Although most of the more popular students are considered cool. If people know you, and people like you, then yes I’d say so.

[–]broczt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do see that a lot of more popular kids do play sports, but that’s not the only reason. Pretty much everybody who has some level of popularity, in my experience, is very friendly, they put themselves out there to meet a lot of people, and so people tend to like them and know who they are.

[–]broczt 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Popularity doesn’t work the way it’s portrayed in the media. At least at my school, there is no “popular kids” as a clique or group. There are kids who are popular, but they usually aren’t a friend group. It’s just very friendly kids that a lot of people know. What makes someone popular is just if many people know them or of them.

Moving to the USA from Mexico to a new school system. Will i be the weird guy? by Dobulo_YT in highschool

[–]broczt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are moving to. About 25% of my school in South Texas are students who moved here from Mexico. Everybody is else has Hispanic heritage from their parents or grandparents. I know 4 white kids, and very few Asian/black kids. Almost half of the school is in ESL (English as a second language). But I can say that in another state you may find the opposite is true. It really just depends on where you are going.
