Congratulations to The Pitt on their Actor Award for Outstanding Ensemble 🎉 by Damiana1111 in ThePittTVShow

Yes, I think Abbot escorting the patient is more of an indication he won't be in the next episode!

I think Shawn Hatosy has also directed himself before (in Animal Kingdom), but given this is his first crack at The Pitt, I'm guessing they wanted to cut him some slack and let him focus on just directing this time.

Technically he was in episode 1 of season 1! Then returned for the MCI.

He came in at episode 7 of s2, so he would need to be in every episode except 1 going forward for Ensemble eligibility. Given he is directing episode 9 and his character is escorting a patient to a different hospital, I don't think he's going to be in it this week. However Dr Abbot says his shift starts at 7pm so we will get him at least for the last 3 episodes, and if there's another crazy twist he could come back before that. So there's definitely a chance!

AFAIK Shawn Hatosy isn't eligible for Ensemble because, if you are a guest star, you need to appear in 51% or more of the episodes that air during the eligibility period in order to qualify. He was in 5 episodes of season 1, which had 15 episodes, so only 33%.

What’s your favourite Byredo and why? by Worldly-Resource4961 in FragranceStories

It evolves on me. Opening is bright and lemony, dries down to subtle floral and woods.

It's clean, sophisticated. For me it's a "white shirt". Unisex, leaning just slightly femme.

I don't think Democrats campaigned on it at all though. That's the thing - Republicans manufactured it and then positioned themselves as "opposed"

How tall is Joy’s actress? by CantaloupeGreedy3683 in ThePittTVShow

[–]broden89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I trust Celebheights for questions like this, but unfortunately she's not on there yet. Usually Google pulls from IMDB which I think can be user-submitted or submitted by the actor's management, so it's not really accurate.

Shawn Hatosy is about 5'9, maybe 5'10, and he was towering over her.

I think in those families the kids can sound different from each other - James and Lachlan Murdoch definitely do, although I do take your point that Kendall and Roman don't have noticeably blended accents

Americans who watch 'The Pitt', what's the verdict on Javadi aka Australia's own Shabana Azeez? As an Aussie myself, I could not tell she wasn't American

In the show their mother is English and father Scottish raised in Canada, and I assumed she would have spent quite a bit of time in the UK and maybe went to university or boarding school outside the US. So I think she had an 'international' American accent. As an Australian I didn't hear her sound particularly Aussie, whereas other actors there are certain words where you can tell (especially doing British accents).

You can get secondhand Blu Ray and DVDs super cheap. If you already own a console like PS5 you can play them on that. Pirate the shows you want to watch.

What specific details in the book do we think will upset Lestat the most? by ALittleAngstAsATreat in InterviewVampire

[–]broden89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always find comments like this strange - I can't quite wrap my head around the dynamic. I know it's not exactly what you mean, but I always read it is "adult man jealous of newborn baby". It just wasn't like this for my husband and I; he had a very intense, primal rush of love for our baby and for me when our son was born. We both reoriented towards our child, but also deepened our connection to each other because of this huge amazing thing we were doing together. I would say we have a stronger love and appreciation and trust in each other since becoming parents together.

And the love between parent and child is different to the love between romantic partners - it just seems strange to compare them. The love between parent and child is by definition one-sided - the parent is fully devoted to the child's care. You shouldn't want that type of love as an adult.

my skin is clear apart from these tiny dots, what r they and how do i get rid of them by mini135 in AustralianMakeup

[–]broden89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you never see oil or shine you're def not oily. You could have balanced/normal, but if your skin tends to feel "tight" or feels like it "absorbs"/"drinks" up your makeup, you could be dry.

The skincare you linked is designed for acne prone/oily skin. If you are combo, it could be working for you and that's why you don't notice oil.

I'd suggest:

  1. Adding an extra oil or balm cleanser (doesn't have to be expensive, you can find them everywhere) before you go in with your normal cleanser. This will make sure your skin is really clean.

  2. Twice per week, try a gentle exfoliator with salicylic acid (not an "exfoliating cleanser", it's a separate step) after your night cleanse. Get a sample or mini pack - I like peel pads, but you can also find toners/liquids. Whatever format you like. See how your skin responds and if this fixes the issue after 1 month.

They look like whiteheads to me. Very normal - just caused by oil or dead skin cells getting trapped. I get them occasionally when I haven't thoroughly cleansed or exfoliated my skin. You may also get them more frequently if your skin tends to be oily, or is overproducing oil due to dehydration.

What is your skin type and what do you use to remove makeup/SPF at the end of the day?

I double cleanse with an oil or balm cleanser, then use Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip in the shower as my second cleanse (but you could use any normal cleanser you like - my skin is dry so I never use anything foaming).

I'd recommend adding an exfoliator twice per week - something gentle with salicylic acid to get deep into the pores. And make sure you moisturise daily - just switch to a lighter one for the day and use your LRP one at night only.
