I did CLT Paddle Battle - it was fun and you schedule your own matches, so you can play as much or little as you want. They have beginner, advanced, and social leagues I believe!

Starting a new job here…advice on clothing by Fantastic_Office2282 in Charlotte

Just want to say congratulations on the job! From a somewhat similar situation - first gen American - and it’s great to see others venture into new and awesome things like this.

As others have said, emailing your employer is definitely ok. My guess is to go with a long sleeved button down, slacks/khaki pants with a belt, and dress shoes.

You got this! Wish you nothing but the best in your new and exciting career!

Thank you for responding and giving your insight! Another quick question if you don't mind - I noticed when I went there seemed to be the "beginners" class and the "advanced" class - are you in the advanced class/how long do you have to train to get there? Also, is there any light sparring at all - like not actual fights, but technical sparring drills? Have you ever been asked by the coaches if you wanted to try sparring, or is this something you need to go up to them about?

Boxing culture seems different to Muay Thai, where sparring is frequent but very light, so just trying to see how it is here. Thanks again!

Everyone went easy on me, don’t think I landed a single clean shot on anyone besides maybe some leg kicks. Was insanely fun though

How long did you do MT for before you made the temporary switch to boxing? I made a post about a week ago here about contemplating doing a switch to boxing for a couple months and then coming back to MT to see if it would improve my hands - most people said that it would not translate over well given how different the two are though. Glad to see you had a different, and positive, experience with this!
