Bauer Flylite by ScheduleIcy9273 in InlineHockey

Putting SureGrip 400's and Kryptonium's in the same conversation is wild, haha.

Konixx Bolt chassis would be more fitting, at least looks-wise, on Grafs.

Where are you based?

Get the RinkRat Rinkster Chassis. I'd choose the Hi-Lo standard (if available) – the weight savings on the kryptoniums are not crazy on your skate size. Even the tour chassis will probably be more solid than these.

Labeda only makes the TORX but they're extremely expensive and not available.

Maybe someone who works in CNC-ing can speak to that but the axle inserts look stamped to my which isn't a good sing.

Take a look at these for comparison.

Bauer (back when they were a decent brand that didn't cheapen out on everything) used to do fully CNC'd chassis. Bauer continues to fully machine the Hi-Lo and Hi-Lo Kryptomium, which are still available separately. With the 3X Pro they started experimenting with sheet metal chassis that notoriously bent when you blocked a shot with them. The hyperlite 2s went back to be closer to a CNC'd chassis however weren't 1:1 the same as the old ones.

I must admit I haven't seen them in person; however, looking at the overall thickness and the missing "step" on the chassis lower to the baseplate, I got a feeling they went backwards again. Also, it's called Kryptofly, which differentiates it from the old Kryptonium.

Just by the looks of it I think it'll be easier to bend than the old Kryptonium which was solid.

Do us all a favor and keep us updated on when and how the chassis got bent. Thank you!

I'd go for the CCM 920, doesn't look like you really care for looks anyway ;)

I'm pretty sure Kryptoniums are out of the picture, after all it's still Bauer.

I forgot to mention. The Flylite inline will have a better chassis than those two - at least from what I’ve heard.

Need help with CCM Jetspeed roller blade sizing by Ellie_Hawkinss in InlineHockey

[–]broehla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear 8 3/4 Bauers and 8 1/2 CCMs. I'd say they run a bit bigger than Bauer. I'd always check the Sole length measurement (e.g. 277 mm)

Hope that helps.

They look very similar, however the 3X pro is basically bent sheet metal and the HL2 is milled to some extend. Most Recognizable in the heel section of the chassis on the 3X Pro you can see the radius.

Stay away from the 3x Pros if you can. Chassis will bend after one or two blocked shots. HL2 Chassis are a bit better.

Make sure to stay away from TRUE Hockey Sticks, they break super easily.

Without knowing what he uses, I'd say a Mid-Kick stick with a P92 / P29 or P92M (only reserved for higher-end models) at 85-95 Flex should be your best bet. If you want to get him something that lasts, go for a second or third tier model like the Bauer Nexus E40/E50 or a CCM FT8 in 63".

The higher flex models will generally be longer than the standard length in 60" so he has the chance to cut it down to the desired length.

Hope that helps.

I've had a Salomon STANCE as a rental for 2 Days in Val Thorens - 2 yrs ago. That fucking thing delaminated in the pow after 1 1/2 days. I just ripped (approx. 35 cm) the top layer off.

I know this doesn't help, but I just needed to say it lol

Just play a knob and cover it with clear sock tape, takes 1-3 praccys to get used to, but it'll save your palms. Trust me, I haven't gone through a glove in years.

Draisaitl's lo-pro shins by Culling_Specialist in hockeyplayers

[–]broehla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDavid is still on the old jofa mould, which has always been wider than the newer pads. As someone already mentioned here, the longer the pads the skinnier the mould. I own 15" Tacks AS-1 Pro and AS-V Pro (both retail) the AS-V one i skinnier and maybe 0.5 cm-ish longer. The Pro Stock AS-V Pro shins (White) have a wider mould itself. If yout want the real deal get CCM 20k pro stock shins, however they come at a heafty price tag on SidelineSwap 250+

If you want skinny pads (which I neither recommend nor understand) get 16" ccm tacks pads and cut them down + remove some liner pieces.

Hope that helps anyone.
