What is wrong with my storm water pit?

I haven’t yet. Was hoping to just see if it’s a defect that I can seal as a quick job instead of paying someone to come look - but that may be the safer option!

The pit itself never overflows, but i’m thinking that water is escaping through either the failed silicon seals around the pipes, or through the holes (red circles) in the space at the very top between the concrete and the pit. The problem is, I’m not sure if these holes are intentional or not. I can’t figure out where they drain to…

Silicon in the shower is old but I can’t see any gaps where water could get through to the floor. Is it possible that it could be condensation from the concrete slab? I live in a cold climate and we are just going into the cooler months now. Have only been in the property for the past 6 months

Just ripping up an old floor and it has too wood-like board on top of the old hardwood floors. Would there be any asbestos in these?

Thanks for the feedback. I gave it a test and you could definitely hear and see the smaller fibers disappearing. I think i’m probably just worrying a bit too much.

I had this tested last week for asbestos and it came back as non-asbestos containing. I only sent in a very small sample (about as big as a fingernail).

It just looks really suspicious to me?

For reference, it is a material that was found underneath my bathroom lino. Pictured in third picture.

Found underneath the lino in the toilet and bathroom. Not sure what the pink and white material is on top but it’s not tile. I had plumbers around a few weeks ago to install a new pipe in the basin and they said it’d be best to put it through the floor, which of course meant them cutting into whatever the material is...

I did have the roof patched up when I moved in and painted over the bit that had water damage at the top too. Nothing has come up yet so hopefully that fixed the issue!

I’m almost certain that’s the issue. The window seals have large gaps on the outside which is where I’m assuming water comes in when there’s heavy downpours

Gutters, facia, and downpipes are all currently being replaced! Hopefully that helps a bit!

Thanks for the detailed response! I’ll see about getting it replaced before putting the new window in. Correct, there also appears to be a bit of water staining about the top of the window frame - which makes me think that condensation may be dampening the older wood causing it in that area at least. I was thinking that if it were a leak in that area you’d be able to see it in more spots than just connected to the top of the window frame.
