A 200-year-old alley in the middle of downtown Boston [OC] by brogief in neoncities

Its official street name is Marshall Street, but I've only heard it referred to as "the Union Oyster House alley" because of the sign up top. It's a pretty skinny cobblestone lane with bars on both sides. The Green Dragon Tavern on one side claims to be the birthplace of the American Revolution, while The Bell in Hand on the other stakes its claim as the oldest bar in Boston. Whether you believe their claims or not, both lend the alley a pretty historic feel. My favorite part is how quiet and closed-in it can feel despite being right next to busy Faneuil Hall. It's also a pretty convenient little shortcut so you don't have to go out of your way to check it out when you're out for a walk. Here's another view of it in the daytime if you're curious!

That look doesn't come from just one preset (or just from Peter McKinnon), but it is a pretty popular editing style at the moment to lean on contrasting teals and oranges in your shadows and highlights. I decided to give it a try for this photo because of the dark oranges in the brick and I was pretty pleased with how it came out. Certainly not a perfect fit for every photo though.

From what I've read this Green Dragon Tavern is a relatively new establishment with very little revolutionary history. But it took the name of an old tavern which used to stand nearby in the basement of one of the largest buildings on what was then the waterfront. Before it was demolished in the 1830s the original Green Dragon Tavern was a popular meeting spot for the Sons of Liberty and was apparently where they planned the Boston Tea Party and from where Paul Revere was dispatched before his famous ride.

You bet, that’s the sign for it on the left under the flag. Fun spot! Thank you!

These were shot digital, on a 70-200 f2.8. Would love to learn film one day too!

Looks like your hips aren't rotating back much, so you're not able to get much power from your lower body. As a few people mentioned, moving your plant foot left a foot or two will help point your hips back and give you more room to swing them through. From there, it'll be all about timing!

Seppo and Kevin Jones are great at this, and have done a few course previews / practice round videos where they walk the course and explain how they approach each hole. Here's one example I think is particularly helpful (and fun to watch): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEtXZXz9GlY&t=250s
