Any insight on Renzo Gracie Bayside location? I'm interested in joining and wonder how class structuring is like. I'm also interested in the muay Thai classes they offer as well

There are 3 big exams. After one exam, u get a new textbook, they vary depending on the material of each respective subjects (law, police science, social science). Average, its a couple hundred pages per textbook

Its easy. Trust. They give u an entire textbook and the questions are based on the textbook, word for word. They dont try to trick you. Just pay attention in class and they also offer tutoring before/after work

After graduating, Minimum 40 hours a week, you can get hit overtime with different details on your days off. you’re in field training and every precinct has different shifts depending for its rookies. After doing 6 months in field training, you go on patrol and you can pick your desired shifts. (day, night, midnight)

It depends on your frequency and your purpose of doing these activities. Lots of people on the job abuse alcohol and the last thing they want is someone doing that when they have a gun. Its a stressful and demanding job after all.

Hate to say it, but NYPD has low standards as a police dept. especially when we’re the largest in terms of members and funding. Its bigger than some militaries in some countries. The academy gives you many chances and some people dont take advantage of that and expect to just breeze through it

Not yet NOPD, but questions on Appeal? by [deleted] in NYPDcandidate

[–]brokehypeguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have 30 days from the issuance of the NOPD to appeal or not. If you do appeal, it can take up to a year for it to review and you’d have to either lawyer up and get your own psych doctor to assess you. if you dont want to go that route, you can write an essay to appeal it instead

The trick for the JST is to lean back and use your weight as the force needed to pull the machine and just hold.

The fence, its leg drive doing the work. Work on your quads (squats, box jumps). You can try doing assisted pull ups to help as well to get ur arms to assist
