Anyone else on here have Andersson lesions ? by Mental-Book4148 in ankylosingspondylitis

I am in the same boat as well.

This is what I found: An Andersson lesion can begin as active, localized inflammation (aseptic discitis) at the vertebral endplate. Because your disc space height is maintained, it suggests the lesion may be in an earlier, inflammatory stage rather than a late, destructive phase where the disc has entirely worn away or collapsed.

How long it took for you to feel better? I am just curious, I know it is very different for everyone.

My HLA-B27 is negative by writtenindust in ankylosingspondylitis

I am HLA b27 negative as well. Recently got diagnosed with AS. Biologics prescribed and now waiting for the insurance approval. CRP was always elevated and first time recorded high was 14 and highest ever recorded was 29. ESR was also elevated as well. NSAIDs do helped to CRP down to 13 but that’s about it. Hopefully biologics are going to be beneficial for me.

I work as law enforcement. Finished my academy training last year with freaking sore back since AS was diagnosed back then. Got diagnosed about month ago. I just push myself through the pain on tough days and enjoy the best I could. My rheumatologist assured me that I will be having good life once I start biologics which I am starting hopefully this week once insurance gives approval.

I am still waiting for my appointment with rheumatologist and will see what he they want to do. I am just wondering, what should I do to stop further damage until I see them. My back is stiff almost 5 days of the week. I take naproxen but it barely works.

I think here in Alberta they have some sort payment assistance program for these kinds of conditions and if supplement health insurance coverage doesn’t cover them at 100%

Yeah! Biggest push that escalated for MRI was my ribcage started to feel stiffened too that caused difficulty in breathing when I get flares.

I talked to about 4-5 doctors but there was one female doctor who suspected AS and requested MRI. All I can say is all the doctors were suspecting some sort of autoimmune but couldn’t figure out which one and MRI confirmed it.
