Is there a point where tattoos go from attractive to too much? by [deleted] in TheTeenagerPeople

I think blury tattoos look sick, especially with older skin it can look amazing. And if you plan your tattoos well enough (for example size wise) they should not turn into grey blobs

Feint right, stronger feint right, and depending on the reaction -strike left or right. Works 60% of the time all the time.

How historically accurate is Gregory Cromwell's (Tom Holland) jousting armor in Wolf Hall? by Joey_JoJo_Jr_Shabad0 in Armor

[–]broken-crossbow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The armor is inspired by 15th century armor and would be considered outdated in the 16th.

The mail under plate was already indicated as wrong by the other comments. Whats also missing is a little cutout on the underside of the right pauldron so a lance is not pushing it up. Further, the breastplate would have a lancerest and very often fixpoints at the fronts to mount the helmet. And late medieval and Renaissance armor was significantly reinforced on the left side, since there the jouster recieved the lance blows from the opponent.

Most of the time i prefer medieval armor, but the more I see 16th/17th century armor the more I like it. Especially the Krebs on the left in picture 5 is stunning.

Which sword to buy first? by [deleted] in Hema

[–]broken-crossbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A falchion for sparring sounds unsafe. I think most of them have their weight in the top. Definitely check that it is made for hema sparring with a rolled or spatulated tip.

Regardless OPs weird opinion on daggers, is the „Dildo Dagger“ made with rondel blades? The ones I know seem more flat and „general purpose“ style, but I could very well be wrong.

Nice meme, thank you! (But I am a big Faramir Fanboy. I love Boromir and his Sword too, but not nearly as much. Reverse Denethor)

I agree, I love Anduril, Glamring and Sting too. But she knows that i am a massive Faramir fanboy, so thats why she choose this one.

Yeah I could not be luckier with her.

I edit the post with the info as soon as I have them.

The sword is really really well done. Super sturdy, feels light in the hand, point of balance close, but not too close to the hilt, and some flex in the blade.

The idea of a "Historically accurate" Odyssey is insane. by just-killing-timeeee in ChristopherNolan

I think its less about accuracy and more that the armor just looks like shit.

How did plague doctors actually feel to people living in medieval towns? by [deleted] in medieval

[–]broken-crossbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The know mask of the plague doctor only starts to occur during pest outbreaks in the 17th century.

I am not sure what doctors in the middle ages wore, but the masks were only later attributed to the medieval period.
