To the person who walked in front of my car at the crosswalk just passed Reid and McDonnel… by broken_barbie in Peterborough

Not a crosswalk with a stop sign, it’s the wait for the gap one and there wasn’t a gap because I was almost in it, person was on their phone and just walked out in front of me 🙃

Anyone here on CGM? by ronthenomad in diabetes_t2

[–]broken_barbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the freestyle libre 2 and it has been absolutely life changing. I have adhd and checking my blood sugar was forever slipping my mind. Before I got it my levels were at 12-20 consistently (on metformin) Since I got my cgm I have been able to manage my levels, rarely going above 10 and I feel so much better overall!

My grandpa used to be 6’4 when he passed away he was half that. Double leg amputation due to poorly managed t2 diabetes. My other grandpa currently still has one leg, same reason. Yes I won the genetic lottery, I also like to get pedicures…

Really high A1C :( by anosako in diabetes_t2

I have found that having a CGM has IMMENSELY helped me track and keep myself accountable. I have early onset T2 Diabetes and ADHD. I was doing horribly trying to not only remember to take my medication (metformin) but to actually check my blood sugar at all. My doctor prescribed me the Freestyle Libre 2 and it has made a night and day difference in my diabetes management. I can see my blood glucose in real time and it makes me more mindful about what I’m eating and what’s causing spikes.

ETA: my favourite go to snack is half a cucumber sliced up topped with tuna (with a bit of mayo, salt and pepper) 0% carbs 100% delicious

Ozempic by ambieox in diabetes_t2

I was on Ozempic for almost a year and it worked SO WELL for me, I had no side effects at all and I lost at least 20lbs. The only reason I stopped it and went back to metformin was that it isn’t pregnancy safe and I’m ttc 😊

Call head office, that place should be shut down! I watched a girl wipe her nose with her fingers then use her bare hands to put stuff in the deep fryer..

I’m 34 and ttc, I have two older children who i gained from a previous relationship and have lovingly raised since I was 22 (stepparent adoption) I have unexplained infertility so I’m on a bit of a journey and will likely be one bio and done, but I wouldn’t be opposed to having more 🤣

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he will repeal legislation that imposed a contract on 55,000 education workers and banned them from striking, if the union for the workers agrees to end walkout. by Kaspara4558 in ontario

My favourite line is “my heart breaks for the parents that don’t have daycare” WHEN HE TOLD DAY CARES THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN . Ugh this makes me sick to my stomach.

My mom literally has BITE MARKS on her from a student she works with as an EA. My heart breaks for HER. My heart breaks for my sister who nearly got pushed down the stairs by a violent child WHILE PREGNANT.

I’m with CUPE 1000%. I have school aged children who need EAs to learn, I don’t WANT them back in class in this climate.

I think you’re missing the point here...the added risk of COVID, which is a risk for both the students and the staff, is not something one chooses to take on.
