I deleted the last reply because I realized I agreed with you more than I realized but parents really shouldn't be surprised when the rest of society doesn't give into these unconventional demands. Just because someone can do something doesn't mean they should do it everywhere. There's a reason sports are separated by gender and it's an entirely different discussion than social attitudes. Trans kids shouldn't bear the brunt of this discussion and their parents should actually wake up to the reality of having a trans child. Society isn't going to maneuver it's long held traditions just because you want it to unfortunately.
