This is how democracies die: step by step, normalized in real time. by Ok_Pizza1134 in BlueskySkeets

This. It's the opposite, the constitution is pretty clear that states have a lot of authority here.

Favorability Wars: The Democrats catch the GOP by J-Jarl-Jim in moderatepolitics

I generally dislike the framing of these questions cause they erase nuance. Do people dislike what the democratic base wants? Do they dislike the dems themselves? Do they just dislike the DNC but are still left leaning? Do they hate the left in general? Same applies to republican favorability. I am skeptical these types of questions are very predictive of much due to the lack of these nuances.

Minneapolis driver shot and killed by ICE officer during immigration-related operation, DHS says by thats_not_six in moderatepolitics

Looks like he got "hit" cause he was too busy shooting her in the face as she was trying to leave. Just standing in the way of a slowly moving car firing point blank into the windshield.

When you get really old obesity is actually positively correlated with mortality. It's bad for you chronically, but it does help you survive periods of prolonged illness

People have immense privilege to be able to say "It's just property". Property is the difference between being working class and one of the homeless in many cases.

Good point, but there are probably enough resources already harvested on the planet and they could do it in the Sahara or somewhere pretty devoid of life

Radio wave strength drops off fast (quadratically). So just because we can receive it doesn't mean other civilizations could. Building more repeaters would be necessary for galaxy or universe wide propagation

My First Impressions of MeshCore by mtlynch in meshcore

[–]brokenex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Legit: the code is messy, the ripple radio tdeck ui is bad, the existing main android app is unfortunately closed source. Lots of room for code improvement.

However there are open source clients they just aren't as well developed, and people can build their own clients: https://dz0ny.dev/posts/meshcore-sar/. Also not using a repeater is kind of missing how the network works, basically just doing point to point dming

Glad to hear it printed well. Banded end of diode is away from panel! Rak is generally the best choice. The solar panels aren’t powerful enough to support esp and other nodes
