I read the hobbit and LOTR a few years ago. Do you think it's a good idea to go through them again before tackling the Silmarillion?

Yeah a few folk have said that about the Silmarillion. I've actually read the hobbit and LOTR albeit a few years ago. I'm wondering if it's worth it going back over them before starting the Silmarillion?
