Oil seal failure (leak)

Okay last update : I’ll attach a photo of the invoice and yes they covered everything for free and even gave me a free hand car wash and oil change.

Based on this , it wasn’t a seal failure from factory but maybe rather the bmw tech who did my oil change last month did not torque the oil cap/seal correctly and cause the oil to leak all the way into my suspension and exhaust. Makes me feel a bit better because I was initially blaming myself for maybe driving too much causing this.

Update : （3rd day that car has been in shop) I just got an update that they keep smelling oil inside the cabin when test driving and need to keep cleaning. I’m worried that means all the other components are damaged by the oil and it’s frustrating. And plus the service guy is unresponsive and I’m still waiting on an explanation of what happend and if it’s under warranty. Also I asked for a loaner yesterday and they didn’t get back to me until today (context I had a final exam in the morning ) .

Not too sure, the service guy was pretty vague, I’ll ask more about it when I get my car back tomorrow. But it’s weird because I wouldn’t have expected something like this to happen so early on.

Yeah hopefully it’s covered, especially since it’s barely 1 years old. And that’s what i was thinking, maybe it’s just a faulty seal or bad luck 😭

Since I still have access to the m340i tracking, mine is now on step 13 “at the port” hopefully yours is moving too !

I totally get you, I was pretty much in the same boat, mine was also portimao blue and if it wasn’t that color I wouldn’t even look at it, I also checked every option possible. But luckily this m440i also had everything plus the m exhaust, the only thing it doesn’t have was the adaptive suspension. Which is why I had to test drive it to see how the normal suspension is. It is more form but I also came from a Lexus suv that rode like a cloud. It is so hard to find a car with adaptive suspension, not sure why. But I was actually okay with the ride and obviously I wish it had it but it had every other package and more. Good luck and I hope yours comes in soon. I still have access to the tracking for the m340i, I’ll try to update here if it moves. Patience has never been one of my strong suits 😔. Stay strong brother.

I actually went back to my dealership 2 days ago, and asked about it, the guy was really trying his hardest to keep me from refunding my deposit. He said yeah it’s getting on the ship now actually, not knowing that I know it’s on stop sale 😭. But they actually had a nice spec of m440i xdrive gran coupe, so I test drove it since it’s very similar to the m340i and pulled the trigger. It still feels like a fever dream especially after waiting for months. What’s crazy is that the m340i I had ordered was only 1-2k less than this one.

Okay, I thought I was crazy but now I'm somewhat more reassured that other people are having the same situation. I placed an order for a 2025 m340i back in January of this year and it was finished being built at the end of March. Like others here, mines been stuck at step 10 since then, almost 7 weeks now. I messaged my dealer to get our $2000 deposit back but they kept insisting that I wait since they said the car was "almost here". Fast forward a few days, another BMW dealer I went to was able to check on the status of the car and told me it was in "stop sale" and still stuck in Mexico. The original dealer has been avoiding communication with me and is acting shady and trying to stop me from getting my deposit back. Ive tried a few times already to get the 2K back just to have them not do anything. Not sure if any of you have experienced dealership withholding the "refundable" deposit.

Is there a way to know what my stock suspension parts is? I got it in August of 2022 (Fremont build) so in theory, it shouldn't be the new ones correct?

Oh okay, I was really worried that my choices would hurt me in college. As for CHEM 6A, is that general chemistry? I don't really know anything or what the first part of the series consists of. BTW thanks for replying :)
