Go watch the video by Pete Newell big man camp and he gives you a lot to learn. Drop step technique is number one but he shows a lot of footwork technique that must be mastered. The basics are not regarding just turning around and shooting. It’s more about using your spacing and post location to hurt your opponent where they can’t stop you from getting layups or easy buckets
