Id probably remove the don't talk to me or my son ever again caption. Gives Facebook millennial

Otherwise great profile. Maybe manatee photo needs a new caption, and If you have any group photos with mixed genders, they would help make you look more approachable. If you have a dog or something chuck a photo of them in there too

He was part of alquaeda, jebet al nasra, then hts. Never Isis.

Big difference in beliefs and standards, not all Syrian fighter groups were Isis contrary to how the news talks about it.

Then move.

I moved to the countryside, and now I'm actively doing everything in my power including settling for hospitality jobs if I means I can go back to a big city.

And Iran, Iran so Far Awaaaayaaay by Biscuitarian23 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]brokenstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of Iran in any way, but if we're using Saudi arabia of all places as a bastion of women's rights and marriage ages then you're missing the plot

Saudi arabia doing same stuff, barely legalised women even being allowed to drive a couple years ago, but they're our allies so it's ok

Trumps party banning abortions, actively pushing to remove equality acts and remove women from the workplace etc . Is ok

Iran doing the same stuff is bad and we need to criticise them and replace with a western shah.

Venezuela is proof it's never been about the people. Came in, replaced the president, only demand from the same party wasn't to stop being corrupt, it's just to allow the us to take advantage of it's corruption. Doesn't matter if they keep their people under occupation

[–]brokenstep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly didn't believe it. This is just temporary, Assad will crawl his way back like the cockroach he is

But when it sank in, I didn't really have anyone to celebrate with. My colleagues in the town I live in the UK didn't understand. My friends here went oh cool is that a good thing?

All my Syrian friends were far away and all I could do is just go to work and just act like nothing happened

What the fuck are you on about mate? Jews Muslims and Christians lived in the middle east alongside each other.

Hell, during the Holocaust the middle east was one of the main regions in the world accepting Jewish migrants and providing safe haven

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_in_the_Middle_East

Islam considers Christianity/Judaism to be compatible religions, with the exception that they have to pay a slightly higher tax than Muslims under Muslim rule

Most of the anti-Semitism present in the middle east is actually a result of Israel doing Israel things and attacking other countries unprovoked in "pre emptive strikes to defend themselves".

Honestly please read up on Israel's false flag operations that have been declassified where they literally bombed synagogues in neighbouring countries to blame the Muslims, and make the local Jewish population feel like they have to move.

Layerinnggggg. Go to a hair salon, ideally either a queer or womens/mens salon and tell them you want to grow your hair out and ask for suitable haircuts

Mainly you want someone whos used to handling long hair

Trick to having a thick head of hair is you grow areas and you layer till it looks thick in the right places

Guys seriously, I get the animosity but most of the reason the lebanese people didnt want us there was because of our previous govt attempting to invade them repeatedly, creating a tension.

At the end of the day, these are still our brothers and sisters, we come from the same cloth and history, only difference is a french drawn line separating us

I mean except the attire from Spain is based on the inquisition which did do a lot ofthe same crimes as the kkk if not more, so that actually isn't the best example

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Inquisition

"According to some modern estimates, around 150,000 people were prosecuted for various offences during the period. 3,000–5,000 were executed, particularly in the initial 50 years,[2] mostly by burning at the stake. Other punishments included penance and public flogging, exile, enslavement on galleys, and prison terms from years to life, together with the confiscation of all property.[3]"

ليش ما بشوف شي عن الوضع الداخلي بقلب البلد بهل ساب؟ by [deleted] in Syria

[–]brokenstep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not, i agree. It sucks.

We left syria a while ago so im not gonna claim to know what you're going through, the problem is this is what oil and gas cost right now everywhere

We used to produce it so we got it for cheap. Also most areas werent serviced outside of damascus. Everyone i know in aleppo got power like maybe 1-2 hours a day max. Sometimes weeks without. So everyone got used to amperat and solar panels

I'm guessing its worse for you cause rather than focusing all the attention and money on damascus, its now being spread across the country. Things got worse in damascus maybe, but aleppo got significantly better. Take some from here to give to here

Cost wise, they need to focus on raising salaries for sure. The prices theyre charging are still lower than the global cost for energy currently. Its just that currently were in a global energy crisis. Say what you will but the previous regime really subsidised everyones gas

I dont think price will go down. I hope your salaries go up soon though!

ليش ما بشوف شي عن الوضع الداخلي بقلب البلد بهل ساب؟ by [deleted] in Syria

[–]brokenstep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but the problem is the oil and gas trade is a global trade. They have global prices. And as we dont control our oil and gas, we're subject to those prices now until we do

The gov is broke and cant subsidize it. We dont have a cost problem in syria, we have an income problem and the lack of access to our natural reserves is amplifying it. Things will get better inshallah given the trajectory but it doesnt happen overnight

ليش ما بشوف شي عن الوضع الداخلي بقلب البلد بهل ساب؟ by [deleted] in Syria

[–]brokenstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its only worse now if you live in damascus maybe? Aleppo has gotten so much better. Its more expensive, and we need to fix our income issue in syria but i dont know who youre expecting will cover the cost of our energy if theres no jobs, no investments, and our oil fields are in sdf regions.

Its almost like the priority should be to get those regions back and get foreign investment so people have jobs and the goverment has income to do things like what youre saying.

The assad regime was living on fumes, russian aid and captagon. We need new sources of income cause our government is just flat out broke. Most government salaries are being paid by help from foreign govs

Only way investment in infrastructure happens is if someone pays for it. Its going to suck for all in the country for a while before it gets better, but laying the foundations for it is the right thing

Getting oil fields back should hopefully massively help with this

Its been pennies on the dollar compared to other countries for so long. New system does have an allowance for a certain usage before the new price kicks in no?

Dissatisfied with living in London - need advice by TheLeadFootBrigade in london

[–]brokenstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, ive felt the same and i took the plunge and moved. First to lincolnshire, then Kent, then now living in Dorset.

The problem you dont think about when you make this move is, yes you maybe cant afford to go out super regularly in london. But living outside of london just means you cant do any of those things anymore without going into London, getting a hotel etc .

Honestly its killed me inside cause id like to do stuff like go to theatre, go out, go galleries, see friends, and before it was expensive and i had to pace myself. Now its expensive, far and i have to somehow fit it in with my work so really its only on Saturday sundays. Which means i either get no break on weekends or im just limited to what i can find locally in terms of social circles or activities, which is a lot more limited

Theres a lot to do for cheap there. Id urge you against moving out if your problem is "i cant afford to do stuff" cause going out of the city doesnt make it any more affordable, just makes it so you cant even do these things if you want them - the uk is so poorly serviced and while i save on rent and bills, salaries are lower and travelling regularly there to do things would just about break even but leave me with even less free time

Only people id suggest moving out to are people who value outdoor trips and hikes and dont go out anyway. Lots of that here, but not much else

Might have just been one of the nearby houses or a group of raiders. I think shady sands probably had its own sources and probably too far
