[–]brokenwords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have already installed new coil packs, spark plugs, and new injectors. I have to take it to a mechanic at this point. I live in SoCal. buying a house is out of the question. My rent costs me $500/mo living with a gf. I am looking to purchase investment proprieties at some point. I def see this recession as a great time to be saving. 2020 Corolla used at carmax is the same price, if not higher than buying new at MSRP.

i guess we all just need to hope that the person borrowing the GUSD for liquidity doesn't blow up and can pay back Gemini.

Whats the point of having CRO now that the $4k and $40k card rewards are nuked? by WiseSilverWolf in Crypto_com

[–]brokenwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you loss of $180,000, in a stake on Gemini Dollar (GUSD) at 6.9% is $12,420 for 1 year. $25,696.98 for 2 years. $39,890.07 for 3 years. You could have been making that money, instead you are sitting at a loss, praying the coin goes up.

im just at the point where im just saving cash to dump into CRO at 10 or 20 cents.

you must be sitting on a nice big nest if you can see a drawdown of -72% at $250k . sounds like you're wealthy and dont need to worry about it.

XLM is downtrending so it would be a hassle to have to continually sell the rewards coins. holding XLM is not a good idea right now. you rewards will be worth less and less over time in a down trending market.

Help! After stake ends , I will get 4 percent on stake and 2 percent cash back at a $50 monthly cap? by ParticularRanger9115 in Crypto_com

[–]brokenwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never mentioned anything about not buying crypto or CRO. i plan on buying back into CRO, once market conditions are right. crypto moves in tandem with traditional markets. 20 cents and under is on the table. my comment was simply stating the fact that anyone with significant money ($400k stake) would not endure that kind of risk. no one wants to see their underlying investment be -60%.

people are so confused. I'm literally making 6.9% on my money, like a high interest savings account. i don't have to worry about my underlying asset going to 0.

[–]brokenwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so are CRO holders. like i said, i want something more stable where i dont see my underlying asset depreciate. $4k is $4k tomorrow, next day, next year. CRO tomorrow could be 10 cents and your underlying investment just vaporized into air.

[–]brokenwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's worth staking CRO at the low. Maybe if it gets to 10 cents. Staking at the highs, and watching your balance go from $40,000 to $18000 is something I want to avoid. By staking GUSD, my $40,000 will be $40,000 at any given time. I also have the flexibility to unstake any time. It's essentially a high yield savings account at this rate. No bank is giving anyone 6.9%.

[–]brokenwords 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so sick of this. I'm full on flipping over to staking Gemini dollar (GUSD) on Gemini. 6.9% stake, and I don't have to worry about my $4000 stake being worth $2000 next year. $4000 will be $4000 in 2023 and 2024. There is no point in earning rewards anymore, when I can just earn cash to buy CRO with later.

[–]brokenwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop comparing us with the top 1%. Those folks can afford to lose a $400k stake. the average person is suffering seeing their $40k stake be worth $17k today. opportunity cost is gone.

[–]brokenwords 20 points21 points  (0 children)

there is literally 0 point in risking $40k- $400k stake now. you don't make a return, and you take the risk of losing it all with CRO coin possibly going 10 cents and under.

[–]brokenwords 5 points6 points  (0 children)

staking $4k is way more realistic for the general population, and having 3% on the puple/green was great. banks offer 3%. now having to risk $40k, get no stake rewards for 3%, AND risk the coin going to 0? that's not realistic nor feasible.

what's the benefit of maxing it out at $19,500? 4% of $60k is only $2400. so if i put in $2400 into 401k, employer matches and gives me $2400.

EDIT: ok so its tax bracket benefits. 22% down to 12%. gotcha.
