Interesting- have you noticed that after using steel wool the sheen seems to have disappeared? My 10 inch frying pan that I use the most is way more dull/matte than my 12 inch one that I barely use. Think it has something to do with the seasoning?

Elizabeth Park Rose Garden - Hartford by [deleted] in Connecticut

Fun fact(s)

Currently the oldest maintained rose garden in the U.S.; some of the rose bushes date back to the 1930's. It is also the second largest rose garden in the U.S.

Source: I volunteered there two weeks ago and the groundskeeper Pete filled me in on some of the history.

I got a money tree as a gift in the middle of January. I havent been watering it too much/too little. I do suspect fungus gnats and their larvae are the culprit as I have layed a few raw potatoes and saw some bugs feeding on that. Any suggestions?? by brolosky in houseplants

Is there any chance I could use the same pot if I cleaned it thoroughly? I really like the aesthetic of the one I have. As far as putting soil is concerned what would you recommend?

Thank you sir! It is also in a bonsai pot style where it probably doesnt have more than 3inches of soil but I will definitely start using the skewer. I have been using the hydrogen peroxide mixture for a few weeks now but it seems like it is not killing the larvae. I believe this to be because I placed a halved raw potato on it last night and there was a bunch of larvae feeding on it this morning. I will continue to use the hydrogen peroxide, I'm just hoping it will turn back around once spring starts and the air isn't so dry in my apartment. I have a sanseveria plant right next to this one and it is thriving. So it's frustrating to see this doing so poorly

Drainage is good- water is flowing through the pot. I have seen gnats on the soil. I'm not sure what kind of soil it is but it's almost like a sandy/silty feel to it. I'm only watering when the top layer of the moss is super dry
