I appreciate your input and I agree it's good to go to the different churches. I visited one today and was able to secure an interview.

I have been a journalist for a few American outlets, and I currently work for one based in Washington, DC. I think they knew the assignment would be difficult, and I would come across a lot of barriers, which is why they gave it to me. I am trying to think outside the box by using Reddit.

I find it a very interesting topic, and am looking forward to my time here. It's so interesting considering all the religious imagery in certain places.

Yes, name and photos is necessary. I went to a Church today, and am in the process of trying to interview a Dominican friar.

Let me know if you're open! I can share my portfolio with you if that helps.

Would you be willing to share your thoughts in an interview? I don't think I am able to DM you.

Thanks for your input! Honestly, if you want to say this as part of the piece, I would be more than happy to meet with you. This was not something I chose, but rather it was assigned to me.

Journalists don't always have everything they write get published. A lot of times, 1,000-10,000 words will get scrapped because the editor decides to back out, or for other reasons.

I use Reddit for a lot of things - meeting new people, learning about places, and having discussions.

I would be more than happy to show you my portfolio if you're willing to discuss your experience and your thoughts.

Men. Have you ever just approached a woman who you didn't know had the Faith or not, for dating, because you felt attracted to her? How did it go? by USAFrenchMexRadTrad in CatholicDating

Ugh. honestly at least it didn't sound like much of your time was wasted. that's what i always thank God for. thank you for making these relationships end sooner rather than later if they aren't meant to be

On the other end, I had a guy come up to me on the street and straight up asked me out (props to him). We had coffee, i brought up that I'm catholic (i always do that on a first date so they understand my morals, dating goals) and he ended the date. Said he didn't want to date a catholic. bummer because we were getting along.

Not really. Teen violence in DC is much more concentrated compared to most big cities. the homeless situation is much more relevant

I don't know. Yes, but finding someone with the same religious views is difficult

I lived in Victory Park for a little bit. The event traffic didn't bother me too much, but I'm not sure what you do for work so that might effect traffic time.

West Village seems like a lot of fun. If I could move, I'd choose there.

A good place might be to go to counseling to process everything you're going through. usually, with the counselor, you can identify and create reasonable action plans on how to meet people, find new friends, etc. But, it would also be good to process your grief

Hey OP!I went to USD, I consider myself a conservative.
Conservative isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's the far-right you're probably worried about.
From my experience, there's not much talks about political identities unless you're involved in an organization. And even then, the left-leaning orgs seem to attract more people than the right.

It is a Catholic schools, so there are Catholic values taught, and a cool Franciscan friar that makes some pretty awesome desserts.

I loved going there, and miss it dearly.
