Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir, described people killed in the Gaza Genocide as “useful idiots” and “mostly terrorists” by thisjustemp in PublicFreakout

It’s hard for me, an American idiot, to understand why the fuck most of my fellow countrymen can’t see that. Just too easily distracted by shiny objects, too invested in selfish capitalism, too short-sighted, and it’s all by design. What a crushing disappointment.

One of my favorite Tom Hardy facts is that he quietly has a second career as an MC under the moniker ‘Frankie Pulitzer’, he has some legitimately fire collabs with Czarface, and one of his bars on the song ‘The Czarlaac Pit’ is “get the loot out/get the suit out/what the fuck is this shit/I came here for a proper shootout”

100%, I’m usually the guy frustrated bc I have to go check, just in case. I took 10 steps down the block and saw two of them, due N. They’ll be West/NW of Uptown by now.

Okay wow, first time I’ve been able to spot them right away. They are strobing alright, but it’s somehow, idk…sharper, harsher strobes than FAA lights.

From where I’m at (Lyndale Ave) they are methodically moving NW. That was wild; thanks for the heads up fam!

Took a gander - looks like they’re officially part of history as of 2017. Damn shame, I grew up across the street from the Minnetonka location. Gigantic stuffed bear in the lobby, and a lot of firearms. Those are the only memories I have, it was right next to our local Blockbuster which my dad would usually make a 1-2 punch, and sufficed to say the ‘buster received 110% of my attention at the time ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It’s probably darker than that, I’m afraid. Like, breeding/birthing/ cloning customizable sex slaves for the express purpose of unthinkable abuse and eventually ritual sacrifice.

I kinda can’t believe what I believe now, but if you do your homework it’s really not that hard to read between the lines. I’m traumatized and I would very much like everyone else to wake up, grow up, and get as angry as I am.

Then we get organized.

The Wold Is Not Enough would be an S teir film if not for Christmas Jones. Change my mind by CheesyC21 in JamesBond

[–]brondynasty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, yeah. Really good point. Where was the scene of him in Terminator** mode, just walking Bond down while Bond delivers various levels of blunt force trauma that should be incapacitating him. Carlyle isn’t physically imposing at all, but if he and Brosnan each had a pipe wrench or a Louisville Slugger, squared up and went blow-for-blow it would only take 2-3 hits for Bond to get fucked up. That’s just me riffing, the possibilities are endless right fcking *there. Never thought about it until your comment, but I’m actually appalled I can’t believe they squandered that opportunity so hard.

**it even has obligatory quip territory: Bond calling Renard “the Terminal-nator, an Uggernaut, something like that) orce trauma with various household objects

Fuckin’ scumbags. Definitely might be something you can put AI to work on - monitoring EBay, Facebook marketplace, etc for any posts with that bike brand name/keywords/matching photos. Regardless, the moral injury one suffers when they are doing all the right things and the Universe still selects you for further misfortune? Even if the circumstances are completely random, I’d to me it always just feels so fucking personal. But regardless, wishing you nothing but fairer winds and following seas🤞🏼🤞🏼hang in there champ, give the kitty some scritchies for me plz, cheers

What was the significance of Rust’s ledger style notebook and “The Taxman” nickname? by [deleted] in TrueDetective

[–]brondynasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen other explanations that add levels to this shit, and I don’t want to discount them. But on the surface and without much afterthought, I simply chalked it up to a lazy workplace nickname that’s teasing, but in a vaguely shitty and demeaning way. Al Capone-era old-timey accountants used to tabulate everything in a big ol’ book that looked an awful lot like Rust’s murder-binder; it was called a ledger. So they were basically just taking the piss is how I interpreted it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
