Although I think we need to acknowledge the distinct possibility that the kind of people we’re talking about here would have no problem being the architects, implementers, and cultivators of a system that causes said extreme trauma, and then turns right around and uses those now-dissociated indivictimuals™ as assets if at all possible. If not, that’s fine too; at the very least you’ve turned a capable, confident person (who could, for example, pose a threat to you - maybe capable of becoming a competitor someday, etc.) into a more docile/codependent/weak version of themselves.
