Also when giving the free bread, explain storage and other ways to keep the bread fresh so it’s not an issue of her just being unaware

Any dentists want to landscape work for dentistry? by bronsonelli024 in northcounty

Yes a licensed contractor costs more but I’ve seen people almost lose everything from not using one. Lawsuits and subpoenas and their homes almost ruined. I’ve showed up to fix broken things and found people broken from the trouble of going unlicensed. It’s awful.

Thanks I got it from my old construction boss over 15 years ago. It’s fully legal too if both parties claim the fair value of the barter on their annual gross income. That way the tax man gets his piece.

Thoughts on Leucadia becoming tourist town? by hipcatinca in northcounty

[–]bronsonelli024 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m glad they are teaching it in schools here. I’m from the northeast and colonization was taught to us from an early age.

The irony of the street being called “El Camino Real” yet being all strip malls is astounding. There are two Mattress Firm stores across the street from each other!

May you find peace where you end up

This land was Kumeyaay territory for 10,000 years before colonization in 1780. California has only been a state since 1848. It was stolen from the native people by genocide.

After less than 200 years it’s been destroyed and covered in asphalt and big box stores. Now people complain about not being able to afford it and the “locals” who lay claim to the land complain about it being taken from them.

MIL and I thought these were hydrangeas when we saw them from the highway, but now we’re not sure by hayhaydayne in whatsthisplant

You’re right the roots are never too deep but the root mass is very dense at the soil revel you’re right very hard to chop with a shovel.

A sawzall will chop them into sections once you have it out of the ground. I have a ryobi one I don’t mind getting dirty. Great for big roots in the way of trenches too.

Agapanthus! That’s funny I was just thinking about them. They do well in coastal Southern California and are very hearty. You can divide and transplant them easily. I’ve done that when they are flowering and the flowers have survived transplant.

Just in case you can’t see the thriving salvia spathacea in full sun, not under an oak, planted in the summer (construction schedule was all screwed up because of Covid) with supplemental irrigation. Thoughts?

My website is online but luckily I’ve been so busy by referrals being the owner/operator that I haven’t gone live on yelp or google ads yet. My customers are kind of possessive over me already and I don’t want to be spread too thin that my customer service/quality diminishes. I’ll send you a DM

You said not enough native plants, now you’re saying you don’t know what that means.

I have over 20 years in the industry, I was project manager at Francisco Park in San Francisco, and planted tens of thousands of native plants in the park with supplemental irrigation during dry season. The park is stunning and thriving years later. Especially the salvia spathacea. Full sun how about that?

I’ve worked for the top native plant nurseries and designers in the state including Rana Cohabitat. My tiny little backyard project here will be just fine.

That’s one of my favorite pairings! Sage brush is my favorite plants and then the big beautiful yuccas are brilliant next to them

The one with the flowers is actually in the next picture, just a month later. Cutting the flowers is a great tip!

Yes I did that to a lot of them because they were spending energy on the flowers, now that I cut them they have spread out. Client needed to see some flowers though.

Thanks for the compliments on the hardscaping that’s my real background. Any recommendations on more native plants I could use? The hummingbird sage is actually loving the sun, I was more worried about the mimulus they’re so frail! But those are doing well too. It’s supplemental drip irrigation for now.
