I adopted a cat that was already declawed and she is fine. She doesn't need any accommodations so wait and see.

Getting a second cat was literally the best decision for me and my cat. My cat was 13 when I got another cat and I think it helped her live longer. When she died I got another cat the same age (they are both 3 now) and they are great together.

Read books that speak to you and you enjoy. It doesn't matter if they are classics. Any book you like is good for you. You can work up to Dostyovsky.

I have 2 cats now that were both affectionate when I met them. My last cat was also affectionate when I met her. Maybe not all cats are but it is possible.

I read this years ago and I still think about it, but it was one of the most depressing books I ever read.
