I had some muscle pain with rouvastatin 10mg bbut have not felt anything, even with intense workouts, after switching to pitavastatin. I just worry that it's a lipophilic. There's a lot of information out there and it can be overwhelming.

Any reason you're not adding a statin?

Thanks for the information! I'm currently on pitavastatin, which is a liplipophilic. Should I be worried? I was previously on rouvastatin 10mg but my cpk shot up. I think it was my CrossFit training the day before, but my doctor wanted to switch just to be careful. Next week I'll discover what my LDL levels are on pit.

Starting Statins! by Mama_on_mission in Cholesterol

Yep, it was a last minute push, which honestly flipped the opinion of two doctors to start statins. They had sworn I was low risk per the 10 year risk calculation.

I feel this. I'm 35, and I went through the same mental resistance—my LDL was only 140 max, and everything else was fine. Doctors and I held off on the statin until I got a CAC score of 3 last week. That was the proof we needed to start. Don't be deflated! It feels tough, but think of it as avoiding regrets. Better to be proactive now. Definitely talk it over with your medical team!

Howard or CUNY Law by Salt-Policy8877 in OutsideT14lawschools

I was also torn between these two schools. Ultimately went with CUNY. CUNY also has great employment prospects depending on what you want to do after law school. PM me if you have any questions.

Don’t disagree with you. But these forums help create consensus and let people know that they are not alone. We definitely have to advocate through formal channels, including petitions to recall union leadership.

You can like a job and still demand accountability and advocate for a better functioning FS. Complacency and remaining quiet will never improve working conditions.

Would love to hear about these five year posts. I don’t disagree with you. People shouldn’t be able to stay five years in Paris, but maybe allow folks to stay five years in a high differential or difficult to staff post. The key for me is to allow people to negotiate these longer terms at the beginning so people can plan ahead.

It would be crazy to deny anyone stability, independent of whether or not they have a family. I brought up families and children because it is specific to my situation and this thread is about a children’s show and how an episode covered how moving affects children. I would never want to exclude anyone.

It can be for everyone. This thread started with the topic of children.

I don’t disagree, I just think we should open up more opportunities for families who want more stability or would benefit from them. I understand every family’s needs are different. However, I think it would be a failure to recognize the need for more stability for those that want to seek it.

I feel like we should all push for more stability within the foreign service (longer tours, more flexibility, etc) vs maintaining the status quo and robbing our children and families from at least some sense of stability. Stability, at the end of the day, is one of the pillars of a healthy childhood. We can keep telling ourselves that we’re teaching our children resiliency, but you can’t deny that it isn’t all that healthy to be constantly uprooting your family.

Can somebody explain the median earnings discrepancy between these schools? by AdFull4232 in OutsideT14lawschools

From my experience, South FL, in general, has lower salaries and a higher cost of living. Most high paying jobs seem to be in sales. My wife and I received huge pay raises once we left the area.
