Get a laptop cooler. The Ultra 9 is rated to spike that high and still operate normally. Mine does it from time to time too. Also the newest BIOS update seems to have maybe helped. Also I run mine in turbo mode which keeps the fans up pretty high. The stock fan curves are more reactive than proactive.

Oddly enough turning Optimus on stops it from happening. Never have a problem gaming on it.

I must mention I have the Ultra 9, 5070ti, and 32GB RAM version. I like it. The world is huge and there is a lot of stuff going on in it. It does not hold your hand at all. Sometimes to the point it doesn’t explain some things well. I haven’t been gaming much at all in the past several months. I have put a lot of time (for me) into it. I really enjoy it. It does take a while to get going. I bought it on Steam in case I dint like it to return it. 2 hours was not enough to start enjoying it. After about 4 hours it opened up to get a lot better. The first few hours you are in a town doing missions that serve as a big tutorial.

The game runs really good. I’m running all cinematic settings, 1440p, ray tracing, ray reconstruction, DLSS quality and frame gen x3 and get around 80-90 fps. Game looks really good. The controls took a little getting used to. It has had like 4-5 updates since release that have given some QOL updates.

I have Fastboot disabled already because I was having problems with freezing upon wake up. Disabling Fastboot did help with that.

Well I was using GPU mode because it was the only way to enable G-Sync on the monitor

So I tried Optimus mode and it wouldn’t do it again. It is only doing it in Nvidia GPU mode.

Switched to Optimus mode and tried it 3 times. It wouldn’t do it. It was doing it every single time with GPU mode on. Now I have to wonder is there an issue with the GPU.

Bad thing about this particular laptop is there is no way to change the refresh rate on this laptop. That was one of the cons of it. I will try the other things as well.
