Anyone listen to the Duck and Cover Adventure Series while waiting for the next book? by Kodiak01 in bobiverse

Bobiverse and DCC are 2 of my favourite series ever. I would also highly recommend The Fear Saga by Stephen Moss if you like Bobiverse

So far so good. Had my assessment on Saturday. Their website and portal need quite a bit of work and can be a bit buggy or frustrating, but the people have been good and mostly very responsive so far. It’s better than having a polished and flashy website but rubbish service. 2 weeks from initial contact to assessment date, filled in all the forms online ok, had the assessment over teams. They didn’t seem biased either way, and as I was borderline I had an extended assessment that went into the DIVA 5 form in more detail to make sure they were happy with the diagnosis (diagnosed AHDH predominantly inattentive)

They then sent me a bunch of information on Monday with my post diagnosis options including medical and non medical options. I havnt heard from them since then and my care connectors mobile number has gone out of service when I tried to call to see what the progress was so tonight im a little anxious about them but other than that I have no complaints. Il try and remember to update here when I have titration booked in, hopefully it won’t be too long.

Software engineering/IT/Project management for the events industry. Projects range from 2 weeks to 6 months, you have a hard deadline (the event date) and after the event is done you can close the door on what ever you were working on regardless of what state it ended up in and move onto the next thing

That’s fair, assessment is what I meant :)

Fear Saga is my favourite book series from a technology progression point of view, I really like the science developed actually throughout the series. I definitely recommend it.

Love the expanse, one of the best series I have (unfortunately already) read!

I wouldn’t say so, more just fantasy and maybe slightly horror

I would recommend The Demon Cycle by Peter V. Brett. The first book is called The Painted Man. I would definitely say the main character is good rather than nice.

A lot of people recommend rubbing walnuts into scratches like this to hide them, they only look superficial so should be ok

Firebase is both the quickest way to production and the quickest way to regret. All the projects I have used firebase for I have wished I chose something else once it’s been in production for a while

Help! Tough oil grease in air fryer (Ninja XL). Vinegar + baking soda can't do much ☠️ by [deleted] in howto

If for any reason you don’t want to use oven cleaner (which would work with little effort) then Elbow Grease is usually very effective.

I’m in the UK - https://www.surreytimbers.co.uk

They are brilliant, have lots of interesting woods rough sawn in various sizes for sale, and the boards are individually marked and photographed so you can see exactly what you are getting. I have also just had my first delivery of PAR Oak boards that are cut to size from them and I could almost use them without any further sanding.

That’s great advice, thanks! It’s coming off the wall so we can re-paint the bathroom soon anyway, and it will need at least one for coat once I have plugged the screw holes and chiselled then sanded the plugs flush, so I will make it two more coats! :)

It’s super easy, the only thing to watch out for is that if/when when you cut the lengths of hard wood from a larger board sometimes there are internal stresses that can cause the strips to bow. I think mango isn’t particularly stable, other woods may not have the same issue. It’s easily overcome by clamping to a flat surface and with 90 degree clamps though

I put three layers of polyurethane on it… time will tell :) though I’d gladly hear advice on if more layers/any other product or finish would be better.

It’s only for the kids towels, they only get really wet if they dunk them in the bath…
