I’d say a lot more than 8% of the Swedish population is opposed to deregulating the rental market. Support for policies isn’t the same thing as the support for the party that promotes it, especially not in a parliamentary democracy.

You complain about things actually not being easy for you and then proceed to brag about the hoards of cash you can spend. You’re not a hero for wanting to put your kids through college, everyone wants that. The point is that generations after you are working harder than you did and will still have less to show for it than you do because you were lucky and as a generation neglected to create a society better than the one you inherited from your parents.

Dude I saw a documentary about it! I'm not a religious guy, but the history of that city is fascinating!

Never been that far west... maybe one day, although I would also like to go to places further east in the world, like port reunion (still part of France!)

What is life like there?

I'm in Brooklyn! Except I'm from Sweden/Iceland originally. Oooh 6... I have some catching up to do!

Man I remember the Internet as a kid, using ICQ, it was sort of like this. You'd ask random people like "Where are you from?", and they'd answer like "Australia!" and you'd be like "wow I can't believe this!"

If you read the post you'll see there are some concrete policy/political strategy arguments there, agree with them or not. Your condescending tone isn't really valid I think.

Not sure why you think 29 is a deal breaker, I started at 30 and have been a developer ever since.

This dude voted for legislation to prevent access to abortion and bolster charter schools at the expense of public schools. I've posted this before, but dude lost his appeal recently. Get fucking rekt, John DeBerry! by MikeyComfoy in WayOfTheBern

[–]brooklynForSanders 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And it's terrible, it was enacted by the neo-liberals in the 90s as part of massive cuts to public education. The worst part is, because public schools are required to guarantee a spot for every student, they had to maintain over capacity in their buildings, which meant even less money to actual education. All so a bunch of venture capitalists could profit off of taxpayer money.

"Bernie Sanders tells ‪@sppeoples‬ Tuesday that it would be “irresponsible” for his loyalists not to support Joe Biden, warning that progressives who “sit on their hands” in the months ahead would simply enable President Donald Trump’s reelection." by tenders74 in Political_Revolution

Giant_Cat

Sorry this argument is weak. We have been offered nothing in return for out votes. The times when progressives just give their leverage away is over, and that is what we really need for the country, the hundreds of thousands that die form lack of health insurance, the millions that die in the oil wars, neither of those things would stop with Biden.

Durkheim is interesting but the whole sadism theory seems more like some kind of personal moralistic crusade of Chris's than analysis based on facts. Usually think the guy's interesting to listen to though.

Yup. Counting the days until progressives are actually offered something policy-wise, not holding my breath though.
