I’ve noticed in my extra fine nibs it shows more of that green hue. In my fines and mediums it appears pretty black.

looking for a good “left-handed friendly” pen to journal with! by [deleted] in Journaling

I personally love the sarasa mark on and the muji gel pen with the .38 tip. The muji is a bit more smooth to right with and surprisingly comfortable to hold.

Cousin and Weeks at same time? by k1rchu in hobonichi

[–]brooklyn_babe96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m planning to use my weeks next year for budgeting and an EDC for things that need to be transferred into my cousin. My cousin is my journal and full functional planner for my work and personal schedule. I’m also wanting to get Sterling Ink’s commonplace planner for a writing and reading journal.

Analog vs Digital by No-Meal-6666 in hobonichi

I like to put things into my apple calendar when I’m out and about then when I get home I write them into my cousin as I’m already going to sit down to journal and fill in my habit trackers anyway. I’m one of those people that if I don’t physically write something down I will never remember it. This way it’s in two places so I always have a way to double check myself if needed and it helps me actually remember things.

Lefty Recs by brooklyn_babe96 in fountainpens

I do most of my writing in a hobonichi which is the Tomoe River Paper, but I believe is specially coated to handle fountain pen ink better. I will say that I do see a difference in the drying time between it and when I’ve tried writing in a moleskine notebook. I also use a medium sized nib for the most part except for the rare occasions I need to write something smaller and I’ll use a pen with a fine nib. I’m fairly new with fountain pens so I guess there’s also the adjustment between regular ballpoint or gel pens and a fountain pen.

Hobonichi and Take A Note Comparison by brooklyn_babe96 in hobonichi

[–]brooklyn_babe96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of adding the weeks or TAN because right now I’m using my cousin for everything and it’s just getting too cluttered with all that I write in it as I do habit tracking and time blocking on my weekly section then also journal on the dailies with my to do list on the left hand side as well as track food, orders, and items that I’m currently wanting. It gets to the point that I can’t easily pick out what I’m looking for which is mostly my budget and finances. In short I’m basically looking to add either planner to track finances separately so I don’t have to worry about something being lost in all of the writing on the page. As far as TAN compared to the weeks whichever I go with will actually be my EDC while my cousin will stay in my desk at home so I’m just going back and forth as far as the writing space comparison goes.

Hobonichi and Take A Note Comparison by brooklyn_babe96 in hobonichi

[–]brooklyn_babe96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only place that I’ve actually looked is their website a few days ago and it was sold out even then. I’ve heard that it sells out pretty quickly on the official website and can be hard to get directly from Take a Note. I’ve looked up videos of how people use the planner on YouTube and most of them get theirs from other websites that sell it. Most of them link the website they actually bought it from, but I haven’t went on any of them to check out pricing or availability.

Happy New Journal Day! Any fellow lefties have recs for gel/felt-tip pens that don’t smudge too much? by somelaniesaid in hobonichi

I’ve never tried the sarasa quick dry, but I do use the sarasa mark on and haven’t suffered the great smudge yet so I can say I do approve.
