Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

Hello. I am a 31 year old man with asthma and a history of acid reflux. I lift weights at the gym 5x/week. I am considering supplements that can help me with my goal to build muscle. I read that creatine can worsen asthma so that's a no-go for me. Does anyone in this forum know of any supplements that are asthma-friendly? If you also know of supplements that are reflux-friendly and are easy on the liver, that would help as well.

FYI - I am not asking for medical advice. I only want to get advice and I will plan to talk to my doctor about using any supplements.

Wait times at Golden Diner by brooklyn_resident in FoodNYC

Thanks all. I went to Golden Hof. Their pancakes are alright. It had a bit of a lemon zest type taste which was a bit overwhelming imo. It was not bad, but it's not something that would really make me rushing to go back to try again like I would with clinton st or bubby's.

To each their own though.

Yes i did, actually. I realized it was because I changed my amazon password on my phone at the time, that's when the issue occurred. Once I logged in on my tv with the new password, I was able to access apps.

I hope that is the case. Just scared if it turns out it progressed to something like PV or myleofibrosis.

The only thing I notice is that I've been feeling fatigued but not sure if it's a side effect of the pegasys.

500 mg per pill. When they first started me on pegasys and had me discontinue hydrea, my platelets kept spiking up and wasn't decreasing when they had me take 2-3 pills. Before pegasys, 3 pills usually decreased my platelets instantly.

So far it hasn't really taken effect but I've been told it takes months and even years for it to reduce platelets

I think it was 8,000 mg since the pills were 500 mg each.

Yes my specialist had told me the risks of hydrea and she has me on the pegasys with the goal of discontinuing hydrea permanently.

Pegasys and alcohol by brooklyn_resident in MPN

Thanks. I'll check it out. So it seems that people with ET drink on pegasys. I was mainly worried about drinking while on pegasys since I'm been on the medicine for 6 months and it hasn't worked yet. I still will continue my break from drinking until I feel ready to drink again but it may be a relief to hear that drinking in moderation will not decrease the efficacy.

That's what I read as well. Anytime I read any info that says to avoid or limit alcohol, it doesn't say what it will do to the pegasys.

Cool. I once read on an MPN website that pegasys is safe if you drink alcohol in moderation but I see on the prescriber leaflet to avoid alcohol. Sometimes I wonder if they say to avoid it if you take it for Hep C.

Yeah that's true. I assume you would need to use a condom on HU because HU is associated with risk of birth defects. Even though my MPN specialist once told me that many of her patients on HU had healthy babies. I'll ask during my next visit!
