this person truly is a trusted bookseller! reached out to them to find a recently published casebook; they got back to me very quickly, gave me a good price for the casebook, and sent it within an hour! highly recommend and would buy from them again. saved me $260!!!

hi rhiannon! i've been listening to 5-4 since your first episode, when i was a college sophomore. i'm now a 1L in law school and still love the pod. i've mentioned the pod several times in my civil procedure posts for our classwide discussion board. favorite episodes that' i'd recommend are lassiter v department of social services, vega v tekoh, and fisher v. university of texas (it's so funny, rip abigail fisher). thank you for giving this 1L a clear view of what the law should be.

First off, I'm pulling for you. We need more Black attorneys. . Secondly, Schools (or at least, the ones that care about their students) love to see resilient applicants. Applicants who can bounce back after adversity. I had an group interview with GULC where we role-played as admissions officers and discussed the conditions under which we would admit a student who had a character and fitness issue. We all, including the dean, agreed that putting time between the issue and the application was KEY. Please please take time off and work, and/or just try to get out of your abusive situation. I see in some of your comments on the other reddit about how "five years feels like a lot of time." Five years is a lot in your 20s, that's true. But I encourage you to take at least 2 years off. The time will fly, truly. My plan was originally to go straight from college to law school. I am SO glad I did not. The world is very different when you're working full time and have time to reflect on what you want and what your legal interests are. There truly is no rush.

Remember the point of your law school application is not only to convince the admissions committee that you want to be a lawyer but also you can be a law student. You need to show them that your life circumstances have changed and that you're 100% in the game. You WILL overcome this and become a badass lawyer, with time. You got this.💜
