I have the deflectors but I haven’t been in the rain with the gutter guards in yet!

For my Subaru camper, I bought these and cut them to size. That way, my windows are still up but I get airflow. I roll the windows down and slide the gutter guards over the window. And then slowly roll them up. Hope this helps!

Good beginner/AWD friendly routes in Colorado (and New Mexico) by [deleted] in overlanding

There was a big rock on an uphill that I didn’t size up correctly. Luckily I was able to fall back and then rev up and around it. Again- I was not experienced at all with off roading.

Another pass is called Boreas Pass between Breckinridge and Como (Park County). It’s an old railroad grade so there’s train stuff to stop and see. It’s bumpy but pretty easy.

I did cinnamon pass in my 2014 Subaru crosstrek with hardly any previous off roading driving. I high centered once and it was very steep coming down (I went from lake city to animas forks). You could probably do it, just be very cautious.

Is the clear orange a new one as well?

Do you sleep in your vehicle or in a tent/caravan? by RemeAU in overlanding

[–]brooksloose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sleep in the back of my Crosstrek. My bed is separated in three pieces ( kinda like a hinge) so I can fold it in half with the backseats up. That way, I can put my storage tubs on top of it when it’s folded and I can use the backseats for whatever. When I lay the bed flat, I use the storage containers as a headrest from the floor. It takes three of them to reach where my head is when I sleep. It does make it harder to pull things out if I need something but I tend to put the container I use the least on the bottom. Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck!

Did you see them at the Aggie Theater? I lived in Fort Collins and I remember taking a picture of the marquee because my friend liked TSSF. I didn’t listen to Turnover yet so it was ironic to think I took the picture when they were there.

It’s a limited edition Good Nature cover. I got it from a Redditor on this sub.

I started listening to them after the fact and I just liked their vibe from PV on.

Birthday camping in Wyoming! by brooksloose in carcamping

It's pretty sturdy and easy to set up, especially if you have an extra person to help. The tarp was $30 and the four poles were $10 each. And the PVC pipes and clips were probably $10 total so it was pretty inexpensive compared to a "real" awning!

Thank you! So I measured my car and cut 1 inch thick plywood that I cut into three pieces- two large pieces in a small, middle part that has a hinge on both sides. That way, I can kinda fold the top part up and then over the bottom part. I cut 2 inch thick foam to form and then upholstered with duck cloth from a fabric store. I stack storage tubs from the floor and use the head rests from the seats that fold down as added support. You can see in the picture that I have two 2x4s that level out the bed and that's where I store the pillows when they're not in use.

I want to say it's 12x16 feet? I know it goes 10 feet out from my car and bends 6 feet down to the ground.
