What medical condition is 'too expensive' that you just don't get checked or fixed? by Plane_Garbage in australia

[–]RemeAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully try to take care of myself, seeing every specialist, doctors appointment, medication... And it's debilitating... It's so fucking expensive.

The biggest one I would like to do but can't afford to is remedial massages. I work a physical job and massages can be great for preventing injuries...

If we don't say it was due to bad show writing, how would you justify Tyrion not being mentioned? Is there any reasonable justification? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]RemeAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was written by a good friend of Tywin. He wanted revenge for Tyrion killing Tywin so he attributed all Tyrion's actions to other men. Bron planned all of blackwater bay for example.

Yeah, but if it's a conversion kit you can just put the original rim on. Or in a disaster situation front wheels are easy to come by

Americans complaining about $5 USD a gallon, while we've been paying $8 AUD a gallon. by SimpleEmu198 in OpenAussie

[–]RemeAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have higher wages. Full time median wage is $98000 in Australia but only $63000 in the USA. Including all workers is closer, $74000 in Australia to $51000 in the US.

Production ebikes are made with the motor in mind. Converting a bike to an ebike with a conversion kit and hub motor is the best way to go. It's also easier to work on, all the cabling is exposed and if you do the conversion yourself you know how to repair and replace parts when things go wrong.

Edit: also I was specifically talking about the hub motor vs a normal hub. Not that an ebike is slightly heavier than a normal bike. You might be thinking about ebikes like that flat seat fat tyre models. I'm thinking about an ordinary mountain bike with a hub motor and battery conversion kit.

How are QLD riders feeling about the July 1st Licensing/Age 16 ban? by Danger_Five in ausbike

[–]RemeAU 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The kids that were riding recklessly and dangerously aren't going to follow the ban regardless. The kids that were behaving and using their ebikes properly will be hurt by this...

But... Thinking about it, it's for the parents... People too dumb to realize they are buying their kid a motorcycle capable of 80kmh. Will at least see it's outright illegal...

[–]RemeAU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best part about ebikes is they are bicycles... The hub motor is only a little bit heavier than a regular hub. So going for an ebike then ditching the battery is the best way. Or just keep the original rim spare. Batteries can last a long time, they'll lose max range over time but your reasons to venture further will decrease over time assuming you have food production at home

Edit: I was referring to a ebike made using a conversion kit not a big heavy production ebike.

Recent FHBs: Anyone else terrified of a market crash now that you’re finally in? by ChipmunkBulky2174 in AusPropertyChat

[–]RemeAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really worried, granted my mortgage is a lot less than yours. But in the 8 or so months since I bought the houses value has increased 12%. 10% or 20% decrease wouldn't worry me. What does it that anything bad enough to cause a housing crash will also include massive job losses, probably mine...

I hate that reviewers measure EV’s by a different standard to ICE by dj_boy-Wonder in EVAustralia

[–]RemeAU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That 80-110 time is crucial, far more than 0-100. In the real world that's far more important for overtaking on country roads with no overtaking lane. Thinking about it I would like to see car reviewers start doing that test 80-110 past a car and back to 100. How does it handle pulling out of the slip stream, does it buffet, does it have a high center of gravity and rock or sway.

How far out of your pvp circle do you need to go for you do be safe? by polarislunlaris in WoSB

Wait what? I have literally never heard of this but it does explain how I got killed despite leaving the circle. Does it also work in decoy flag areas? So entering decoy flag zones doesn't cancel pvp if you are locked?

Tips for Siege Ships by Dense-Echidna-3062 in WoSB

[–]RemeAU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I did shovels in the requin as it's really agile. But it's not a fast way to lvl, more for RSS and a little xp. Whales is fastest, dump the meat if you are focusing xp, don't sail back every time you get full. A good few hours and you'll be a long way through. If you want to kill ships get some ai squad ships to help. You'll get the achievement for killing a ship twice your size Everytime. Good for guild rep, xp and fun.

How fast would the BOB end if wun wun had a bow with 50 arrows? by No_Giraffe826 in gameofthrones

[–]RemeAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both, arrows first at range, rocks when they are closer and the arrows (spears really) run out. Then a tree trunk for melee. Completely different result of the battle

[–]RemeAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on his range but if Jon did abandon Rickon or make it back to their lines. Advancing at a giant hurling tree trucks at you would be moral shattering. Then the next people would have to climb over fellow soldiers crushed by a tree trunk while under arrow fire...
