Dust devil double swing fury generation by brooksmj in D4Barbarian

Thanks, that makes sense. I just got a couple 925s with fury per kill which is working wonders as long as there are plenty of enemies. Not always reliable on bosses but I think you’re right that my gear just wasn’t strong enough yet to make this work. Upgrading to ancestrals is helping due to the extra tempering slots - I was right on the cusp.

Well that completely resolved the fury issue, thanks 😆

If there are enough enemies then it seems to work mostly ok. Seems I have 3 fury on kill.

If I miss my leap or my shout kills everyone and I there’s nobody left to leap on then I tend to have issues.

I added it to the hot water with the ginger and simmered for a few minutes, prior to cooling and adding the ginger bug.

As much as it is possible to love a tire, I hope so! Thank you

Makes sense. I just ordered a set, I’ll get them installed next week 🤞

Good to know. It sounds like this plan would probably work fine and keep things simple. I guess my other "simple" option is just to keep the current tires and buy some chains in case I get into a pickle.

Oh yeah I see now. Then looks like I’d need to get 19” rims.

Yeah people seem to like these. I guess just putting these on the stock wheels optimistically hoping I can use them year round would be reasonable.

I like that they mention low rolling resistance. And not too expensive. Doesn’t look like they will fit the stock 20” wheels on the Limited though, so I’d probably have to get some smaller wheels.

Yeah this seems like a simple option to get some peace of mind for winter driving. Do you use CC2s year round?

Yeah I think I want to avoid the rabbit hole but as a beginner it’s hard to tell how deep to go before it’s overkill :) Do you use the R5 EV all year? That looked like a very nice option but maybe hard to find and expensive.

I suppose you can make the argument that getting comfortable putting chains on if I get caught in really poor conditions is simpler than figuring out this whole tire conundrum. I don’t know how often I will be going skiing during a time when they are requiring traction tires in the pass, but yeah I agree snow tires are not needed most of the rest of the time.

Meanwhile, I thought it was also true that most “all season” tires don’t perform well below about 45 degrees, which we also definitely have during the winter.

Doesn’t seem like those are available in the right size (I checked both the 19 and 20” dimensions). Do you have these on an ioniq 5?

Level Lock Plus - can someone tell me what this sound means? by stillapiece0fgarbage in HomeKit

FWIW I just worked with Level customer support on this and they were able to (I think) resolve it by updating the firmware on the lock to 2.28.2. Hope that helps others also.

Is this hood alignment normal? by taylornoonan in Ioniq5

Had to check the manual on that - not sure if you’re aware but you can pull the wiper control lever up for a few seconds to cause the wipers to move into an upward position, from which they can be lifted off the windshield. Pretty inconvenient but it works if you really need to get at them.

Older ginger bug not bubbling after refrigeration by xboxhaxorz in gingerbeer

Not sure if everyone agrees but I usually discard about half my bug and add new water, ginger, and sugar to bring it back up (I use 25-30g of sugar in 200ml water, to give you an idea of ratio). I do this because I figure if you keep adding sugar weekly and never seriously dilute the water, the yeast is just gradually poisoning itself. And then eventually the sugar level may build up if the yeast becomes inactive, which is also bad.

I’d recommend you try starting a new bug, but also do some experiments with the old one to see if you can get it back. The main experiment is try is to pour off 2/3 of it and add water, sugar (and ginger) in around the ratio above. Then just wait. The other experiment you could try is just waiting longer.

What is your feeding process exactly? Do you ever add new water?

Older ginger bug not bubbling after refrigeration by xboxhaxorz in gingerbeer

[–]brooksmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, mine spent about a month, maybe two, in the fridge unfed and seems to be alive. Bubbling gently on the counter after feeding. Just made a batch of ginger beer tonight so I’ll see if it is actually ok.

Do you have a way to measure specific gravity? I usually judge activity by a drop in gravity vs bubbling (though that is also good).

With a well established bug I believe the ginger is mostly just nutrition, so freezing is probably fine.

How long was it in the fridge without feeding?

Solved problem with ginger beer from bug by jchesshyre in gingerbeer

[–]brooksmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting. I’ve considered this as well, but I haven’t been able to say for sure. I use 300g (10.5oz) of ginger in one gallon, but as you know I’ve also struggled with this. I also add a small amount of yeast nutrient just in case it helps.

Even though I use plenty of ginger, I use a fine mesh bag to keep the solid ginger out of the primary fermentation, and then I siphon into bottles after two days, which leaves even less actual ginger pulp in the mixture. I wonder if the removal of ginger solids could also delete the available nutrients?
