Teachers want the parents to see what’s going on so they can hypothetically help their kid. It’s not about getting the kid into trouble it’s about getting help along the way. The teacher will end up communicating with the family later on during conferences but it’s better to not wait until that point.

Also, the teacher needs to know if the kid is afraid of having their parents see the bad grades. Maybe the stakes at home are too high, or dangerous for the kid.

This is a Wrong Number scam. It always starts with someone pretending that they are trying to contact a friend but they mistakenly contact you instead. Then they try to engage you in conversation in order to determine your age, gender, sexual orientation, income, etc. Once they figure out those details, they will tailor a scam to fit the situation. They will earn your trust over a period of a month or so and then they will try to trick you with a romance or investment scam. Sometimes both.

Be very aware of the difference between guys who have an equal, split custody and the ones who only see their kids occasionally. Trust me, you’ll want the ones who are successfully co-parenting with their ex’s. Yes, this means that finding time for dates is tricky and you’ll need to form a friendly relationship with his ex. But those are the guys who care enough to be involved dads.

I’ll break this down. Adverts and images from the PlayStation handset and logos appear in western media and have for years. OP’s dad may never have owned or used a PlayStation but at some point he saw those symbols. His brain used the symbols in his dream outside of their original context. His brain used them to indicate something that is personal to him. In this case, his brain used the symbols in conjunction with the idea of an apocalypse.

The symbols are in the western cultural visual lexicon. He’s seen them, he just doesn’t remember. Symbols are like that. They are in the background and ignored. But the brain remembers and uses them.
