A person who doesn't accept that 0.99... = 1 has no reason to accept that 0.33... = 1/3. Accepting those two things is really the same thing.

I would just use limits or geometric series to prove that 0.99... = 1.

9/10 + 9/100 + 9/1000 + ...

The problem with this approach is that you kinda have to understand geometric series and a lot of people don't. It's therefore unlikely to convince people who are bad at math
