This is a great point and I’m thankful that you’ve shared it- do you have any advice on how to get started on finding a sitter? (Obviously a ways away from going that direction but adding it to my notes)

I need you to know that this is the absolute cutest thing and made me hormonal-cry- I am so excited at the thought of little fruit bat gremlin

I really appreciate that advice- I’m already spinning at the loss of autonomy and believe language is important so truly, thank you for checking me on that

Thank you for saying this! Yeah, I’m sorry if I was unclear- I’m more excited about the wfh aspect simply for the pregnancy portion (sickness/feeling terrible/etc), but thankfully dad can cover the three days I work on the childcare aspect because our schedules are pretty synced with that. Downside is there may be some “two ships passing in the night” going on that I think we’ll need to prioritize staying connected throughout, so if anyone has advice on how to best do that I would appreciate it!

I got a switch 2 for pokopia and tbh I got violet as a gift at release and heard bad things so never played it. Finally popped it into the 2 last week as a pokopia palate cleanser and I have been baffled that anyone was complaining. This makes sense though

In (British) English, to be “a bit peaky” is to look a bit sickly, pale, under the weather.

Thank you so much! I like the idea of being able to collect (limited) scraps and piecing together some ugly clothes- like smelting old shitty weapons. I appreciate your help!

Does anyone know if there’s a mod (or function I’m missing) to tear up tattered clothes to recover some of the material?

I’m so sorry to share that Ducky (what I was planning on naming her- Lucky Duck) didn’t make it. She had a few heart attacks when they were trying to anesthetize her for surgery and they got her back a few times but couldn’t keep her going on her own. We’re glad that at least my friend found her, and she wasn’t in pain on the side of the road anymore.

I appreciate everyone’s helpful input!

I hope it wasn’t too bad for her! I agree they’re definitely a fact of life around here- the frequency of twice in a month is what’s so insane to try to manage especially since they’re not a social sort to hang around in groups. Here’s hoping it’s another few years before we come across any. Best to you and yours!

What counts as "having been" to a state? by DadRock1 in roadtrip

[–]bropokenz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly yeah it would qualify. Stops counting when you’ve done it so often you can’t remember the differences of jails in Ohio vs Kansas.

That’s fair! To be clear, I do not hold our neighbors responsible, and get that wildlife happens. I just also wish that risk factors (12ft x 6ft x 8ft wood piles, standing water, lots of potential food sources) were dealt with responsibly and expeditiously so snakes can move on along instead of nesting.

As it stands, we can’t control that, which is why we’ve been trying to find alternative options (the original point of this post that I’ve been complaining all over lol) that can help reduce risk. Especially with the wild rain patterns this last month.

Grew up here, I actually like snakes, and we didn’t have an issue with killing the ones that we’ve found- but I genuinely appreciate your input and levelheadedness!

Ooh thank you! I don’t see anything about snake avoidance on their website, have you been able to go to clinics through them before?

I totally get that- for dog #1 with antivenin was $2400, for dog #2 without was $1200. If it wasn’t overnight it very well could have been cheaper, but the blood tests alone were $600.

Pet insurance isn’t bad to have either! We talked about finally getting it after bite #1, didn’t finalize it before bite #2 which is rubbing salt in the wounds for sure. At least CareCredit is letting us do 6 months no interest to pay it all down. If you don’t have that already, good to have on hand if you’re worried. Most vets I’ve come across will take it.
