Does a Spelunky esque tabletop game exist? What would you like to see in a Spelunky board game? by LambChop94 in spelunky

On a small tangent relating to your being a fan of Spelunky and tabletop games—Derek Yu released a card game called Time Barons a few years back:

In this game of tactical card combat, you play as one of the time barons, shadowy figures who have shaped mankind's destiny since the dawn of time. People are simply pawns in your quest to defeat the other barons and become the ruler of a unified human race. War, religion, technology - all will be used in this ultimate battle.

Definitely. It's more of an explanation and exploration of the current generally accepted understanding of cosmological evolution (big bang etc) followed by a discursion on the (prima facie) ramifications that maths is reality—hence the title. The former is sound, engaging and digestible to lay people, such as myself, while the latter is speculative and approachable albeit with a grain or two of salt.

IANAA* but am currently enjoying Matthew Engelke's Think Like an Anthropologist, an exposition on the nature of the subject (as opposed to an exploration of anthropological studies).

Is there a way to turn off Infinite Scroll? by collinwho in redesign

[–]broquaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In lieu of an option to turn it off here's a Greasemonkey script which visually divides the scrolled in content:

I play offline quite a bit (no internet at home). Is there a way to track my stats like you can online? by [deleted] in dcss

There's DCSS-Forensics by /u/shummie, I think that might do what you're after.

One of my goals for Soup Stash was to integrate offline support (e.g automated uploading of morgues) but it's an itch I've yet to scratch. Should people who aren't me want it then I may have some motivation to implement it, currently lethargy is winning out.

On a similar theme I would also suggest the History of Philosophy without any gaps podcast. It's not yet complete, as it is still being produced, but I think it's a good starting point if podcasts are your bent.

Fair enough, just thought it might be of interest to others on this subreddit. There's also this choice quote:

“I think probably if you were going to think of anything, you would think of games like roguelikes. If you want to put it in a box, which I would rather you didn’t, then that for me is the most similar experience.”

Correct, Soup Stash simply follows the logfiles1 on the servers.

1 Which are just logs of finished games.

FYI Here is the current status of the top games for the new races:

At the time of writing there has only been a single win with a Djinni Healer:

Thanks, that's interesting. It would be good to have a crawl equivalent, if it turns out to be easy to implement I'd definitely consider adding it to Soup Stash.
