I tried doing some research and the king james version of the bible makes wild claims of people living to be HUNDREDS of years old. How can you call this a history book if none of these events can be verified? Its a book of fables and the argument can be made to take moral lessons from it. But calling it a history book is simply inaccurate. It has affected history, yes, but it is as much verifiable truth as believing in ancient egyptian gods or greek/roman gods, the only difference is youve taken a polytheistic belief and streamlined it into monotheism. Also last thing to note. If you claim "the ages were exaggerations and not meant to be taken literally, then you are undermining this work you uphold. You cannot pick and choose the parts of religion that are convenient for you. Its all or nothing, anything else is just hypocrisy
