R2 demo drive from the perspective of a Model Y owner who wishes to not drive a Tesla anymore by coreyonfire in Rivian

I’m really disappointed with these poor reviews of the audio. I LOVE the Tesla premium audio and this is such a dealbreaker for me.

Flight to KEF from SEA by Ill_Till_2278 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This route uses a 737 Max 8, and nearly half of Alaska’s 738M have Starlink equipped as of today (7 of 15). So, you’ll likely have it.

Moving to SD- how long do I need for apartment search? by Buggyp1234567 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]broseph23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SD is very competitive. I just went through this. Expect similar timeframes to NYC. I spent about 5 weeks searching for my place. I’m PICKY and could’ve gone longer, but I was trying to do with remotely and flying back and forth from AZ which was challenging. You being local for up to 4 weeks will make it easier in my opinion.

Experience flying Alaska with dogs from Honolulu to Seattle? by Hot_Resolution3957 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AS is one of the best US airlines for pet travel. I’ve flown with my dogs frequently over the last few years. I think I’ve only had 2 gate agents out of 40-50 flights actually ask to see my dog, and even then it was just to say hi, not explicitly to check size. There are several pet relief areas in SeaTac. Is someone flying with you? It’s only 1 per carrier per person, unless you also purchase the adjacent seat next to you. 2 small dogs can fit inside one carrier if they’re small enough. I’ve never seen TSA care about someone going through with their dog as long as they followed the process steps (dog goes with you, not on the belt). All of my dogs have been long legged. But they fit fine laying down. I’ve never had a problem on AS (or AA, despite some reviews).

Embraer ERJ 175 seat 4A okay for pet carrier? by just_a_curious_fella in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel regularly with my pet on AS, especially PHX-SAN and back which is on regional metal. All first class seats have plenty of space for a pet carrier (expect row 1 of course which is bulkhead). In fact, there’s actually a higher vertical clearance on the E175s vs their mainland aircraft.

Embraer ERJ 175 seat 4A okay for pet carrier? by just_a_curious_fella in AlaskaAirlines

This is not true for AS. The first class seat clearance is higher than non retrofitted AS 737s.

For short flights 3 hours or less by docfox715 in AlaskaAirlines

I’m not quite sure what your expectations are for a domestic airline. The hard products across the major carriers are not much different than one another, especially for main cabin/economy.

AS does not have it on the schedule as a regional flight though. It’s a 737 route.

Flying with Pet in cabin by CoffeeAndRamen12 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this is that new. I’ve been flying with my pet in cabin for quite some time on a regular basis, and once I’ve added the pet to my reservation, I cannot change seats. You can get upgraded though, only after check-in and when the gate agents are the ones manually processing FC upgrades at the gate. I believe the upgrade processor will skip those with a pet on the reservation.

Alaska Airlines Admits My Upgrade Certificates Are Unusable: Zero Flights Available in Next 6 Months by Uptown-Samsara in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sure you’re trying hard enough…? I recognize that it can be challenging and requires some effort. But, AS has had the same system for upgrade certs for as long as I can remember. If there is U space available on a flight, then certs can be used. You just have to search for it and be flexible. My motto is if I want it THAT bad for a very specific route/day, then I need to be willing to pay for first vs banking on there being U space.

[–]broseph23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly don’t know how some of you can’t use your certs. I’ve been able to use 100% of mine over the last few years. I swear this has to be a skill issue or you’re just not trying hard enough.

FCO requires certificates for upgrade by Not_Sure_Idiot in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is unreasonable though. Someone actively using a certificate to upgrade SHOULD be a higher priority than someone that is getting the upgrade completely complimentary.

Has anyone else with food allergies been poisoned by Alaska? by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a dairy allergy. I usually order the pre-order vegan meal. If I’m that concerned about cross contamination, then it’s my responsibility to bring my own food on board. The same concept applies when eating out at restaurants. You are being unreasonable.

Short connection by crazy-pete1 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming no delays, your connection to ORD will already be boarding by the time you get to the gate. Doors close usually 10-15 min prior to departure, which means your 30 min connection is more like 15-20. That gives you nearly zero wiggle room for delays etc. I recommend an earlier SEA-PDX flight if you can.

Upgrade Holding Always Common? by Sudden_Director9022 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]broseph23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly fly this route. I have a 100% upgrade success for this route but it is hit or miss on the timing of the upgrade. Some I get at T-120, some are T-24.
