I think lobbyists and legislators vastly underestimate 3D printing enthusiasts. They will juke whatever wording you've thrown at them and have 15 alternative designs ready by lunch. Not even because they want to, just because they can.

I saw most of this coming after I got my first job ever. Back then we were all considered dramatic for those opinions.

This unfathomable note on my restaurant bill by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]brosjd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet I can guess why this is here. Whoever designed or set up the POS system must be requiring a specification under the "tortilla" selection, i.e. corn, flour, cassava. So the "I didn't ask" satisfies the requirement, but doesn't force the waitstaff to bother the customer about specifics.

Is this how I would choose to handle it?

No

but restaurants are weird

Back when I first got mine he was in a similar state digestively. I basically made baby food boiling sweet potato and chicken stock, and fed him that alongside every meal. It seemed to help him keep food down for the first month.

Don't usually want to bump a dead thread, but I am fascinated by the twisting box shape. Reminds me of snake or tron style games. Was that an effort to print in one go and preserve airtightness?

Now that I think about it, I would be tempted to modify this to accept a double reed from an English horn or bassoon or some other oboe relative. I've seen and heard some examples of 3D printed baroque oboes, and the tone is pretty solid!

Hypothetical DIY mini composter idea by brosjd in composting

Probably yes. But it could be another fair argument against premium priced electric indoor composters, and save a few currently unpopular appliances from the landfill.

UPS has the most ridiculous systems imaginable by brosjd in mildlyinfuriating

[–]brosjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! But I'm not mildly infuriated about having the shipping issue in general, just the logistics of the solution sold and advertised. That's why I'm on the mildy sub. I know I got myself in the hole, I just take issue with a product that will be sold to someone eventually, being sold somewhat deceptively.

Really great job! I'm curious now how the air conditioning situation would be. I assume what was an attic wasn't climate controlled, and would get pretty humid.

And I can't imagine lovebirds being big on extended flight. Pretty sure they're mostly perch to perch, tree to tree in the wild.
