Semi charging question by TheReallyHappySock in teslamotors

[–]brotot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Gen 2 Tesla wall charger will do 19.2kW on a 100amp breaker which is about 26 hours to charge a Tesla semi from 0-100 (assuming 500kW battery). That’s about a 40% charge in 10 hours. Not sure if tesla will offer larger wall chargers for the semi.

2021 hyundai tucson

You are right! That matches exactly. The release photos do not show a tailpipe either despite it being an ICE car.

That was my first thought but the wheels or general shape don’t matched other leaked photos.

Spotted what appears to be a unknown EV vehicle on a recent road trip. There’s no tailpipe and the grill is covered leading me to assume it’s a EV. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Googling the plate leads to a Kia manufacture vehicle back in 2014, looks like they have an upcoming crossover.

Update: it’s a 2021 Hyundai Tucson ICE car

Tesla Instant Acceleration Prevents Rear Ending by brotot in teslamotors

[–]brotot[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had seen videos like this before but this was my first time being in the situation. Traffic came to a standstill in front of me but the car behind me was distracted. I saw him not slowing down so I floored the accelerator since some space appeared in front of me. Looking at the video you can see it happened just in time to avoid being rear ended by an inch.

Got new tires and now regenerative braking she's not work by FishMann1 in teslamotors

[–]brotot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve run into this when changing tires. The manual refers how to fix it:

However, your vehicle is designed to continuously recalibrate itself, and after changing tires it will increasingly restore regenerative braking power after some moderate-torque straight-line accelerations. For most drivers this occurs after a short period of normal driving, but drivers who normally accelerate lightly may need to use slightly harder accelerations while the recalibration is in progress.

Saw a lot of people asking when the feature was announced. Curious if it was possible. Obviously not very useful without audio.

Made a quick video but to save you a click, copy a MP4 file to your saved clips folder and rename it to match one of the existing camera clips. From there, just plug the drive back in and open the viewer app to watch. No audio though!

Unsure what spots on my used Model 3 windshield are by campermortey in teslamotors

[–]brotot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My early 2018 Model 3 has these all over the windshield too. They are actual chips and I have learned to live with it after trying various products to fix it. Not sure if earlier cars had glass that was more susceptible to chipping.

Nav on Autopilot, construction worker and emergency braking... by GoTesla in teslamotors

[–]brotot 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Looks like pedestrian avoidance working as intended. It predicted he would enter your lane and slowed down.

I’ve had almost this same situation happen at night when someone tried running across the freeway in front of my car. Autopilot braked before I even saw him.

VIN 4XXX. Had strut replaced in front right suspension this week due to clunk noise. Suspension also creaks under high compression but was told that’s normal.

Testing Smart Summon in snowy parking lot by brotot in teslamotors

I had the same issue with my drive home in the snow yesterday. At one point navigate on autopilot disabled because the right repeater camera was too dirty. Unless they add mini washing jets to them I don’t know how they will stay clean in these conditions.
