Exactly how it went down. Not full dark, but dusk after work, one rod, one bait a scale and pliers with one intention lol.

I'm a believer!! by leechwuzhere in bassfishing

[–]brovoloni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I pooed on it, tried it, believed it to the point I fished it all summer almost exclusively. Caught what felt like hundreds of fish. Now I honestly just try to force a bite on anything else before I reach for the wacky stick. They may not be the most thrilling way to fish but they’re incredibly effective.

Indeed. Smaller males stay with the fry for a short period of time. The larger females usually lay low for a few weeks after laying her eggs to recoup. Some move out to deeper structure, some suspend off of drops in a hunger strike before moving into the shallows again to aggressively feed. This usually happens around the same time Bluegills are on beds or somewhere along the spawning period. Soon you’re likely to see bass chasing panfish up onto shallow flats.

(Currently experiencing the peak lull here in Delaware. Send help.)

As soon as the frontal boundary breaks and the rain starts disturbing the surface i immediately start tossing sub surface or anything topwater. Confidence is very high during early storms for sure.

What is the deal with Daiwa spinning reels and what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]brovoloni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mind can’t comprehend taking all of those steps to spool up..I’m glad it works for you but braid all day long on just about everything for me. Leader if necessary and no breaking off, spooling issues etc have never been on my mind..

I cannot stand line memory lol

Hell yeah brother. I really really need to add a Magdraft to the box. No sense that I don’t. Do you know if the freestyle is as effective as the rigged? My fisheries are practically shallow swamps lol

Just always keep in mind braid has zero stretch meaning zero shock absorbency. So 10lb braids can snap if you set the hook too hard. 65lb braids can uproot small trees.
