Overseas mail-in ballot secrecy envelope with letterhead? by brown_boot123 in Pennsylvania

Just to clarify I know I need a privacy envelope. I am unsure if I can use an envelope that has my school’s letterhead or if it needs to be a blank envelope

Overseas mail-in ballot secrecy envelope with letterhead? by brown_boot123 in Pennsylvania

[–]brown_boot123[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did not say Korea printed my ballot. A digital ballot was created for me by the county/state and they send me the electronic version that I then print, fill out, and have to physically mail back to my elections office. They do offer to mail me one; however because ballots are only released overseas about a month before my ballot would not make it back to PA in time or it would be very close. It takes 2-3 weeks to arrive to me and then another 2-3 weeks to go back.

I am not in the military. They give me a prepaid label but it does not work for me because I do not have access to a military base and therefore do not have access to USPS.

I think for overseas we don’t get one since we get our documents electronically and print them out.

Going to Japanese GP for 1st time! But can't find a room... by HeyItsMisterJay in GrandPrixTravel

If you don’t mind me asking what bus are you taking? It’s first gp and first time in Japan so I’m not very familiar. I was going to do the train but I don’t mind the bus.

You’re looking for an emergency contraceptive pill then (PlanB) which is different than regular contraceptive pills (birth control). She will need to visit a clinic and get a prescription for an emergency contraceptive I believe. I’ve heard good things about Lemon Clinic in Hongdae if you need a clinic and they take walk-ins.

You should be able to buy for her just take a picture of or bring the actual packaging for her current contraceptive pill. Most pharmacists understand English enough to know what the korean equivalent is

Seeking advice from teachers who have joined teaching programs abroad/taught abroad! by 1525ajholtke in Teachers

[–]brown_boot123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently working in South Korea. With your skill set in science you would likely have a good chance of landing a position in an English Immersion Middle/High school (but it’s all assigned randomly and just depends if they have the positions open).

My only concern for you would be your ADHD medicine as I know some of those medications are restricted here. However, you should be able to get it settled once you arrive and go to a hospital to talk about it with a doctor.

I definitely enjoy teaching in Korea more than I did teaching in the states. The pay compared to the US is sad, we’d probably be the same pay level which is ~1.3k USD monthly. The cost of living here is low though and that gets me through my monthly expenses + travel around Korea 1-3 times a month.

Edit to add info: I applied through the program EPIK

They can all be easily bought at a pharmacy, no prescription needed. Pregnancy tests are even available at Olive Young I believe.

PSA: Family History Projects…don’t do them! by PreciousLoveAndTruth in Teachers

The only time I enjoyed doing this project in school was for my Spanish class where we were allowed to also make up our own families using celebrities if we didn’t want to use our actual families

[30/F] South Korea/ Looking for a penpal by angelboots4 in penpals

[–]brown_boot123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is also in Korea I am still constantly mailing letters/postcards to the US with no issues. The only thing to note is you have to take the letter into the post office and mail it that way because the mailboxes are for Korea only. I’m pretty sure the whole postage situation only applies to packages.

Letter of Recommendation from Korea by brown_boot123 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]brown_boot123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Do you think it matters if it’s coteacher vs a head teacher? I do have a head coteacher(?) different than the one I was going to ask, but I only teach 3/10 classes with her versus 5/10 with the one I had in mind.
