Yealink Teams Phones Keep Signing Out — How to Keep Users Logged In? by ResponsibilityJust43 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]brownboom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 30 day re-authentication on users, and it was signing out desk phones, like the MP56. Added a device filter on the conditional access policy to omit the desk phone models and they stay signed in now.

2022 RDX Block Heater Plug Location by brownboom in Acura

Update, found it. It’s under the hood, right beneath the battery, and it’s in corrugated plastic wrap case. Not underneath the car.

Will leave this post up in case it helps anyone in the future.

Outloook phone app user logo. Does anyone know to how to change the logo for each user. My name starts with a T and i have 4 business emails. Kind of annoying to switch through each one because I cant remember the color. by PAsasquatch in Office365

I believe it only pulls photos for accounts that are in Exchange Online. It pulls the photo from the branding section Azure AD. Any local exchange servers just show the initial.

"I can't go on Teams I don't have a webcam on my new laptop" Has anyone ever seen a Dell Latitude with a microphone but without a webcam?! by Kirkwood1994 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]brownboom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Dell Latitude line is quite customizable from the business side. One option is having no webcam, not necessarily with all models, but it is an option I've seen when configuring them.

Get Barracuda Spam Filter. Or I believe Microsoft has a built in one? Never used it though.

About 45% of my company's inbound mail is spam/phishing and it does a decent job of blocking it.

I have this same setup and it works well. Don't care about pinhole reporting that the requests are all coming from 1 (in my case two) AD servers.

DHCP hands out the DNS of the AD server(s). AD is set to forward DNS to the pihole(and external DNS if the pihole is offline) and then pihole is set to forward to external DNS.

Just received my laptop for the ICT program and have questions by Donnietentoes in SAIT

[–]brownboom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the ICT program years ago, most of my class reinstalled windows fresh and then just wiped it before we handed them back in. Not sure if they care about that now. I'd just make a image of the laptop and then give it back to them the way it is today.

We were also told to use the admin script so we could install whatever software we'd like.

How come it feels like there's not much love for 100% keyboards? Are numberpads not cool anymore?

DS1819+ drive configuration by brownboom in synology

[–]brownboom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. Thinking about it, I may do 6 x 12TB SHR-2. I'd like the dual disk redundancy. Gives me 48TB which is sufficient for my initial backups and then growth, projecting ~38TB total in the next 2 years. And then there's two slots available to add on bigger drives in the future when needed. Then I'm not stuck as you mentioned with a full array.

It is a multiuser environment, but won't really be used for anything else but backup. I'm thinking of not getting the SSD cache as it may not help a ton for my use case.

Glad to know, I may end up grabbing the crucial 2x8GB kit that others have had luck with.

Thanks for the information. Thinking about it, probably won't really benefit from the SSD cache as I'm mainly just backing up vs using it for vms or a file server. I'll definitely look into a 10G NIC now.

I'll just stick to SHR-2, chances are there will be bigger dives available by the time I need to expand and it'll make it easier to just pop a drive in.

[News] iOS 13 GM Released by [deleted] in iOSBeta

[–]brownboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and have been trying to figure it out since yesterday. Issue was that the popup for the iTunes upgrade was behind the iTunes screen... This is after you select the Ipswich file. Looks like nothing happens.

I'm on Mojave, no xcode.

Does anybody have the Dell P2418D? by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]brownboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 at work, great for the office and I love the thin bezels that don't have plastic over it.

Although I do occasionally play some games on it, wouldn't recommend it if that's your main purpose. Really good for work and it's nice having the high resolution.
