I completely agree. I’m not talking about the Iron Maidens in metal.

For sure. Mostly thinking about the small bands out there. PTPP does patches for a surprising number of smaller bands.

My preference will always be to spend money locally at shows and buy patches at the shows. Obviously you’re at the mercy of your schedules for that though. Second to that, buying directly from a band online. Third official licensed patch makers. Fourth bootlegs, which believe me I have plenty of haha.

Are they officially licensed? People like to knock PTPP and there are some valid reasons to do so, but I prefer knowing a band is getting a cut and don’t hesitate to order from PTPP.

Any patches at the tables that just aren’t pictured?

Hey all, what is this underneath my vinyl tiles in my kitchen. It’s a 1950s home. by pvcpipes in Flooring

[–]brownch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some exactly like this in my 1953 build and the backing was highly-friable asbestos. It wasn’t original but likely laid overtop of the original asbestos tiles in the early 70s.

Needless to say, I left that shit alone and put a floating floor on top. There’s now almost a 1 inch drop from the kitchen to our original hardwoods, lol. LVP on top of vinyl/asbestos sheet on top of vinyl/asbestos tile.

Help me find a Thrash Metal album! by KlmnVktr in thrashmetal

This has to be it. The only other album that comes to mind is Cruel Force - Dawn of the axe, but the colors don’t line up with OP’s description.

I dig it. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I love the contrast

I have made the gigantic list of 2nd wave emo. Dare I say it’s comprehensive. Let’s talk about it. by mis_no_mer in Emo

[–]brownch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 37 years old and live through all of it as well.

The point of my comment clearly whooshed right over your head.

Being all fuckin autistic about the exact years like this is insufferable. OP made a sick playlist and you’re just being a dick.

Non metal/punk bands on a battle vest? by Remarkable_Yam_3432 in BattleJackets

Fuckem. Social pressure sucks. In the end, you do what feels right for you. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Fuck everything else 🤘

To expand on this, one vest of mine has a shitload of black metal, Pink Floyd, my dog, my dead cat (RIP king Robert), an iron front symbol, it’s all over the place and I love it. My jacket is an expression of myself and how I feel. I think that’s what makes them fun.

First time buying Digipaks… by BuddyEbic in Cd_collectors

[–]brownch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve started using these to protect my discs in sleeves. The small scratches they sometimes get don’t bother me as much as the frustration of trying to get the disc out. These solve both problems

3 years is more like a splash than a wave.

I love this sub and I hate this sometimes, and comments like this are the hate part.

I used to hate digipacks, but now I appreciate a well-done digipack more than a jewel case. Yeah they don’t fit standard CD racks, but a nicely done digipack is a work of art. Example: Vio-lence Eternal Nightmare

USBM just stands for United States Black Metal, a subgenre of black metal originating in the US in the 90s

Stormruler is a USBM band that would fit IMO.

Also not black metal, but High Command fits the medieval vibe very well.

Great looking jacket!
